This is probably one of the best hotels in this area. Front desk agents are very helpful. Hotel was very clean. My room was clean, all lights and charging ports worked. Housekeeping is great here and I can tell they do a good job. Breakfast was good with plenty of options. Attendant kept everything in order and replenished. I always appreciate the coffee machine being available 24/7. Plenty of parking and there’s a Cracker Barrel right next door. The only downside is the traffic infront of hotel. Not because of noise but trying to get out in the morning or afternoon. It’s a challenge for sure. I come here quite often for work so I will be returning to stay at this location. Great stay!

Initially I felt pretty negative about this hotel because I sent messages after booking and also emailed the hotel, but even after more than 24 hours nobody replied. That felt very unprofessional, and honestly that’s the main reason for the 4 stars. The hotel itself was very quiet, there were not many people, and overall it was clean. It wasn’t dirty, but there was a thin layer of dust in the room. It seemed like the room was cleaned after the previous guests checked out, but not refreshed again before new guests arrived. That being said, the hotel was comfortable, had decent soundproofing, a very comfortable bed, and a good shower. Breakfast had a surprisingly large selection. It’s not the healthiest food, but since it was included and we didn’t pay extra, I have no complaints. Would I come back again? Yes. The staff was friendly and smiling, and overall the hotel was clean and peaceful. If management starts paying more attention to emails and Booking messages, this would easily be a 5-star stay.

Serious Violation of Privacy and Completely Unacceptable Stay My experience at the Holiday Inn in Charlotte, NC was extremely upsetting and unacceptable. While I was out on Saturday afternoon, staff entered my room without permission, even though I had a Do Not Disturb sign clearly placed on the door. Without any notice, call, email or message, they went through my room, packed all of my belongings, and removed everything. This included my personal underwear that I had left in the shower to dry, which was handled without my consent. I was an active guest with a fully paid two-night reservation (I made the reservation directly with the hotel, not with a third party) There was absolutely no reason for anyone to enter my room or touch my belongings. I would have gladly moved rooms if needed, but instead they chose to violate my privacy and handle my personal items as if I was no longer staying there. To make matters worse, when I returned around 11:30 PM, no one had attempted to contact me, and I was told there were no rooms available for me. I had to stand at the front desk trying to figure out what happened, only to be eventually placed in a room that belonged to another guest who had not yet arrived. That room was clearly not properly cleaned or ready. There was trash in the bathroom, a used towel next to the sink, the toilet paper looked used and was left partially on the floor, and the beds looked like someone had already been lying on them. It felt like I was placed into a room that had already been used, which was completely unacceptable and unsanitary. As a solo female traveler, this situation made me feel unsafe, uncomfortable, disrespected and completely disregarded as a guest. This was a serious failure in basic hotel standards, communication, cleanliness, and respect for guest privacy. I would not recommend this property under any circumstances!!

This is a really good one.! Location, break fast, amenities, quality is good. I preferred staying again. I will give 5 Star rating to Chris, he is an amazing person. He took care of everything without hesitation.!

I’ve stayed at many IHG properties, and unfortunately this was the worst experience I’ve ever had. The front desk staff were not welcoming at all and did not demonstrate the customer service standards I’ve come to expect from IHG. I wasn’t thanked for being an IHG member, and overall the hospitality was extremely disappointing. The issues with the room were even worse. The fridge didn’t work, and I had to use the one in the lobby for my food. Not only was this a major inconvenience, but the staff didn’t offer an apology or any solution. The photos online are definitely misleading — the room looked nothing like what was advertised. It was dirty, had a strong unpleasant odor, and clearly had a poorly done “renovation.” There were patches on the walls, fixtures in the bathroom falling apart, a broken iron, and an ironing board cover that was visibly dirty. I was highly disappointed with my stay, but thankfully it was only for one night. This property is nowhere near the usual IHG standards, and I would not recommend staying here.

I’m a Platinum Elite Member with IHG and my experience was superb! Don’t stay at this location. It took a very long time to check. Check out is at 11am but they knock on your door at 9am trying to get you out. No one is at the desk when you check out. They charge me a $50 fee. Not sure why. This place is trash!!

Took a trip to North Carolina decided to stay at this hotel for the weekend. Im honestly very disappointed at this location because it was very dusty & it didn’t smell clean at all ,the restroom had an odor that wouldn’t go away & they couldn’t even vacuum or sweep the floors properly. I have stayed at other locations in near by states and none of the other locations had any of these issues going on . I truly hope they do better with providing their staff with cleaning products and catch up to the Holiday Inn standards I’m used to .

Don’t know why Google classifies this as a “2 star” hotel. It has the best rating in Matthews, including more expensive properties. Price is very good. The room is clean and modern. Complimentary breakfast is excellent and numerous hot and fresh items to choose from. Every staff member I spoke to was pleasant and inviting — including housekeepers. This place deserves a higher rating than 4.3 out of 5.

We spent the evening with my aunt and had a lovely time. Her room was very nice and she was very pleased. There were a few patches, indicating the ceiling and wall had been repaired in various places, but other than that everything was fine. The pool looked clean and inviting. I was tempted to get in, but unfortunately I didn't have my swimsuit. They even serve refreshments in the evening and my aunt said they serve a very nice breakfast.
