This property presents a polarizing experience, drawing high praise for the spacious, clean rooms and friendly staff during busy events like PopWarner Nationals, while simultaneously receiving severe criticism for its vastly outdated facilities, significant hygiene issues, poor security, and failure to meet Marriott standards. Guests consistently report encountering unsanitary conditions, such as roaches and bedbugs, alongside severe maintenance problems completely misaligned with the Marriott Fairfield brand.
Early morning flight at Charlotte airport but live in greensboro so this hotel did what I needed. First walked in I thought I was at a motel. Rooms are not clean good it was hair on the sheets and the tub is very small with a dirty white shower curtain. Arrived around 9pm and left around 4.30am so I didn't get breakfast. They did have lemon water in the lobby which is a plus.
Platinum Member- Absolutely disgusting. It’s not even the fact it hasn’t been upgraded since it’s literally FILTHY!! Waited two hours for a room just to immediately checkout after. It’s clearly not owned by corporate. This is why I don’t like private properties. They nickel and dime their budgets. Completely unacceptable! Manager was kind and staff was friendly.
What a wonderful experience at the Fairfield by Marriott. The bed is always comfy. The room was spacious. It's a great hotel for a small family to stay in. The suite have a kitchennette which can save families money from eating out. This hotel chain is my go to whenever I am traveling.
Terrible experience! Stayed here for a work trip w my director. I woke in the morning to find my room infested with roaches! When we brought this to the attention of management they blamed the rain from the night before. There were no other rooms available so had to cut the work trip short. That was months ago and Marriott still won't do anything they promised, return my points, compensate for the experience or even return emails! What a joke I keep getting the run around. Clear Marriott does not care about it's guests and this hotel has a bug problem so I would look elsewhere for staying in Charlotte
We came for PopWarner Nationals, the staff was great considering how many people were staying in their hotel. David was amazing! They did an awesome job taking care of our team! Thank you.
We have been very happy with our stay. Our room was clean, large and plenty comfortable. The staff are very kind, hardworking and accommodating. Breakfast was good and plenty.
I love the Marriot brand but this Fairfield Inn could use a little work. It was clearly an older hotel that was bought out by Marriot. Some of the windows had condensation and need to be replaced. Also, the driveway needs to be repainted at the front doors. There was a bit of an old hotel musky smell even tho the carpet looked to be clean. Overall the room was clean but the building and grounds need some work to be up to par with other newer Fairfield Inns.
Your stuff is not safe here. Several cars were broken into here the other night, and management has done nothing about it. Several hours passed before any staff checked on the situation outside (if at all) because someone’s wallet and things were strewn out in the parking lot all morning, and no guests were alerted during this time either. They’ve refused to offer help to those whose vehicles were broken into under their watch. I like Marriott, so I generally expect much higher quality service from them. Until they implement some major changes, you will not find that at this location.
Online friend stayed there recently and her trucks window was busted and broken into. Corporate needs to come in and ensure guests are safe and their rooms are kept up to the highest expectations no excuses. Remodel everything top to bottom full on overhaul. Security on site roaming the property would be good so guests feel safe 24 7
I booked this hotel to attend a funeral. Unfortunately I did not read the reviews, I have stayed at fairfield marriot before and the experience was quite good. After driving for 7hrs, tired and exhausted. As soon as we entered into the lobby the smoke and mouldy smell, immediately triggered my asthma. Had an instant headache ontop of me trying to breathe. I immediately block my card and drove around about 30mins trying to find another hotel. Most were booked due to events in the area. THANK GOD we found a hotel which was a breath of fresh air.. I was so happy that I did not even attempt to check in because of the lobby smelled like this the rooms probably the same. I have no problem paying for my comfort but my health was priority. The manager of the hotel have the nerves attempt to Charge my card..for cancelation. READ REVIEWS FIRST MOST OF THE TIME THEY ARE CORRECT. had to find the nearest hospital after traveling so many hours. .I am still having a massive headache from that place.. Again do not book at this hotel. I am saving you the headache read the reviews yet the manager said that this was a non smoking hotel. Not true. The place smell like a smoke pit...Not just the smell but the hotel lobby is dingy looking. The worst Marriot I've ever stepped into..
