Guest service generally receives high praise for being warm and proactive, but positive experiences are frequently marred by operational headaches including unexpected overcharges, early departure fees, and issues with breakfast quality and availability.
The team here was so kind and helpful. They meant all our needs. Ms Deborah and Ms Janet as well as Tammy and their District Manager Deidra. They should do a master class on hospitality . If you are looking for an amazing hotel, give them a try, you will not be disappointed.??????????
We have stayed here twice in the last month. I am a Hyatt member and typical only stay in Hyatts. This was undoubtedly the best Customer service we have ever received. We had no issues or concerns that warranted contacting the staff but they were proactive always asking if we needed anything and how we were doing and greeting us when we went through the lobby. And it was genuine ! The ladies ( and one gentleman) that worked the front desk are simply delightful to be around. These people truly love their jobs and providing authentic hospitality and man it shows. And they were amazing to our Lab Lucy. The hotel was also very clean. Thank you for making our stay great and yes !!! We will be back.
It was my first—and likely my last—time staying here. While the room itself was nice and clean, the constant fan-like noise and the proximity to the highway made it difficult to sleep, as the highway noise is clearly heard throughout the night. If you end up being here ask for room facing front face of the buildings to reduce the noise exposure. I also follow a gluten-free diet for medical reasons, and unfortunately the hotel did not offer any suitable options. They had no gluten-free toast, and when I asked for two simple fried eggs, my request was denied. I had to leave the hotel to find breakfast elsewhere. This was surprising, especially since other nearby hotels easily accommodate these basic dietary needs. Overall, despite the clean room, the experience was disappointing.
Our stay was amazing. The beds were very comfortable and the morning breakfast was clean and excellent. Our host and front dest person was Deborah. She made our entire 2 day trip there amazing. She is what any hotel should have as a host. Deborah was kind, considerate, friendly and gave us a beautiful smile the whole time we talked. If you ever visit this hotel, ask for Deborah in the morning. She is a wonderful host and will take good care of you and your guest. She made it a 5 star stay, thank you Debbie, we really appreciate you and look forward to visiting here again.
UPDATE TO HP RESPONSE: What a foolish & uninformed response… We were told the breakfast was included by the young lady I checked out with and furthermore after review of the breakfast, we left… The bananas had a brown hue to them & the breakfast did not appear to be appetizing in the least. We literally turned around and left… We went to Starbucks down the street, I can provide the receipt. The response from Hyatt Place is not good service and shows they do not care. I need to be refunded but to have to wait to call back after 3 PM tomorrow is poor customer service. Do better. Be better. Do not nickel & dime repeat customers nor charge them for something they did not take advantage of… after telling them it was included. Refund the money. ORIGINAL POST: Don't recommend - Looked at my Amex this morning and there's a charge of $17.62. I called the hotel, was told to "call back tomorrow after 3 PM" to have it reviewed. I have always enjoyed Hyatt Place hotels but... to be nickeled & dimed with a fradulent charge - terrible. On top of that, being pushed off over 36 hours to TRY to get refunded - poor service. Be careful with this hotel.... and double check your credit card statement if you stay or have stayed there.
We came down to do a HBCU tour from California. The rooms where ok. They were clean but there was a shortage on everything. From towels to comforters. the real reason for the low rating is I called at 6 in the morning to ask for tissue and they told me that I would have to come down and get it myself because we didn't request room service at check in.. That was ridiculous!
The hotel is very clean and spacious. The location is not far at all from Uptown. Parking is free which is a plus. The breakfast isn’t free and isn’t worth $8 when you can book at the Drury Inn across the street with a good free breakfast. The options are very limited for the breakfast here and that was disappointing. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. I would defiently book here again.
We stayed for 6 nights for my son's wedding weekend. I can't begin to tell how enjoyable our time was! Rufus Brown treated us like royalty from the moment we met him. He continued to make sure all of our guests were happy and comfortable. He made us laugh and went out of his way to make us feel welcomed at Hyatt. It truly shows when a person loves their job and does it to the best of their ability.
We booked a few days ago with AAA discount online, directly through the Hyatt website. I went to the website, cause after being disconnected on the phone, I was not super confident in their ability to book my reservation. When we get there to check-in, they say the card wasn't charged and it was just a hold and they can only proceed with billing that card if THAT card is present (this may have been an oversight on my part, I know some hotels are like this.) Anyways, the room I booked for $136 a night, they are charging my card $294!!! --- I was traveling with my chihuahua and on the phone pet fee was $50 ---then suddenly 75$. When I went back to the desk to show my email reservation and rate and AAA discount, the woman insists its just a hold on the card and that ‘they’ will charge (and update) everything in the morning...won't even try and fix it! That simply doesn't cut it. I will never stay at the Hyatt again --- when in doubt choose anything else -- Marriott, Westin, Holiday Inn Express ...
I had a very enjoyable stay at this Hyatt. Jezlin Paulino was particularly commendable—she went out of her way to assist both me and other guests, which really stood out during my visit. Despite the hotel being quite busy, she managed to keep everything running smoothly. My room was clean and well-stocked, contributing positively to my overall experience. The breakfast offered a variety of options that appealed to many tastes. I especially appreciated the perfectly cooked bacon! The breakfast area also had an inviting atmosphere, thanks to the efforts of Jay McDaniels and Jeanette, who made the space feel welcoming. I look forward to returning for another stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to others!
