Guests praise the hotel's convenient location near the light rail, athletic gym, and clean, spacious rooms with tile flooring. However, visitation varies significantly; many travelers report critical maintenance failures, poor cleanliness standards, and a disparity in service, particularly regarding behavior perceived as discriminatory.
Stayed here over the weekend to visit friends, was super easy to book, check in was easy and had no issues! Parking was full but they have plenty of spots in the Camden lot right down the street. Unfortunately, I was hospitalized and only wound up using my room for a good few hours. However, staff was very empathetic and helpful, Shelby at the front desk was able to get me a later check out time, so I could recover before the trip back home. Very much appreciated, thank you Shelby! Would definitely stay here again next time im in Charlotte!
I was at Holiday inn for a 3-day business meeting in one of the conference rooms. I live in town so I did not stay at the hotel. Nice conference room with all the amenities. No complaints and I will definitely use this facility again.
I just had one of the worst experiences while having breakfast here at the hotel. I went down for breakfast and opened a package of Philadelphia cream cheese to put on my bread and make an egg sandwich. I left the empty wrapper (trash) next to the toaster while I prepared my sandwich, intending to throw it away afterward. It was so unpleasant, and the attitude was terrible when a girl named Monica, with an arrogant tone of voice and facial expressions showing annoyance and a terrible attitude, said to me, "The trash is back there." I hadn't even finished making my sandwich yet; I wasn't leaving, and I was going to throw that trash away. What I find unpleasant is her attitude and the way she asks for things. Meanwhile, the service she provides to white people is noticeably different. Five minutes later, a white person dropped some bacon on the floor, and she went and cleaned it up with a smile on her face. She even made a big fuss over them and cleaned it up in the best way possible. Therefore, the treatment I received this morning from Monica demonstrates a lack of customer service and I would even dare to say it was an act of discrimination because I am not white. I can't understand how someone who works in the kitchen and occasionally interacts with hotel guests can have this kind of attitude.
the microwave did not work and the fridge was left open until we checked in late at night so it was frosted over and would not cool down. parking lot is small and the communication from management afterwards was very belittling and rude, almost makes me want to be done with IHG. Staff promised one thing and management would not honor, and i don't care how many lies and ways they want to spin it.
I go to Carolina Panthers games usually once a year and have never had a bad experience until this hotel. The parking situation was horrendous, it's tiny and said it was at full capacity then entire stay so we were never able to park at the hotel. The room also was not cleaned properly at all there was someone's snack trash on the floor right next to the bed. The AC barely worked in both my dad's room and mine, the microwave didn't work and the fridge didn't work in my dad's room. 2 seperate rooms side by side (211,213) and almost every aspect of each room was poor. Would never go here again
Really nice lobby, balcony seating and adequate fitness centre. Hotel is really clean and staff friendly. 24hr fresh brewed coffee machine and market with snacks and supplies. On site security
Nice overall, very professional and courteous service, except breakfast staff, which overall can use some upgrades. Location very nice, perfect for us. Parking was not too expensive. They use an outside vendor with smooth transaction.
I stayed at this hotel earlier this year as it was the only option that was nearby the event I was attending. Even though I arrived after check in, they did not have my room ready for me and downgraded me front a king balcony room to a room with two queen beds and no balcony. They still charged me the same rate. That night when I went to shower, I discovered the shower was not clean, and there were hairs (definitely not mine) in several places on the shower walls. I conveyed all this in feedback online via their survey. The manager reached out to ask what they could do, and when I replied, I never received a response. I was very disappointed as this hotel is in a prime location. I would recommend staying uptown.
We had such a great experience! The staff was exceptionally friendly—one of the housekeeping ladies even noticed me struggling with my things and kindly helped me to the lobby. Our room was spacious, spotless, and I especially appreciated that it didn’t have carpet. Aside from a rug under the bed, the floors are all tile/hard surface, which feels much cleaner. My husband and I were here for work, and it was very convenient to have conference rooms available to reserve for client meetings. The location was also perfect—close to great dining, convenience stores, and a running trail, yet surprisingly quiet since it’s surrounded by condo and apartment buildings. The only thing I didn’t like was that there weren’t any bottles of water in the room, which would have been a nice touch.
New hotel, super clean, walkable to everything South End and Uptown [approx 15 minute walk to border of South End and Uptown]; between two Light Rail stations [each one approx 5 min walking away from hotel]. Kind staff. Definitely an upper level 3 star hotel
