Recent reviews paint a concerning picture of the Hampton Inn by Hilton Charlotte/Matthews, citing issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and a lack of responsiveness from staff. Guests have reported musty smells, dirty rooms, broken amenities, and a general feeling of neglect despite some positive comments about friendly staff individuals. Parking fees added to the dissatisfaction.
The air felt musty, there was no air circulation or A/C in the elevators (which were also dirty), trash accumulating in public areas and the spotty internet connection (admitted by staff). Honestly, the hotel gave bed bug vibes. I left my corporate office know to not use this hotel in the future.
It’s a Hampton Inn, one of Hilton’s lower end brands. Knowing that, the room was fine. The reception staff were top-notch, very helpful and friendly. Someone tried to break into my car overnight. No damage was done, but it left me feeling a bit insecure.
Worst Hampton Inn I have ever stayed at. Nothing super awful, but breakfast was inedible except coffee and toast, bed seemed worn out, housekeeping promised new towels, empty trash and made up bed every other day…I got 1 trash can emptied and a bag of towels left. $5.xx per day parking is a surprise at checkout. I feel robbed of $15. I have never been charged for parking at a hotel in suburbia.
We needed a hotel room close to a local hospital for my wife and sister in law to visit their Mother. The clerk on duty Sunday was named Dylan, the service provided by Dylan was exceptional and over the top! Outstanding! I met the manager Jamel McDowell he is dedicated to providing the best possible experience to all guests and spent time telling about his commitment to excellent customer satisfaction! Great Job! Keep it up! Lieutenant Colonel (retired) Billy Jackson US Army ??
I’m a Hilton Honors member and travel frequently. This was one of the worst hotels if not the worst that I stayed in. Room smelt stale. There were four of us staying in the room and we were given two small towels. I called in the morning requesting more towels so my family could shower and we can head out and continue our travels. No one came, called an hour later they said they would send someone again. No one came, we managed to shower and get ready as best as we could. At 11 as we were heading out maid finally came to give us towels knowing very well it was checkout time. I told her no thanks I asked for towels 2 hours ago and we’re now heading out.
The hotel was dirty and some of the wallpaper was falling apart on the 5th floor. The AC didn't work in the dining room. The hotel charges over $5 for parking and does not include this fee in the original quote. There are no pack-and-plays available for babies. The rooms feel dirty. Very disappointed with my stay here. I would feel better if the hotel were to reimburse me for parking. Why is there a fee to park in a parking lot that has many potholes and homeless people walking around? You should be paying your guests to park there or at least improve the parking experience.
The room was a good size and well maintained but the bed was very firm, which is incredibly uncomfortable for a big guy who sleeps on his side. Despite having plenty of room for a bigger chair the one there was tiny and so uncomfortable I couldn’t sit in it. The breakfast was good save for the thinnest cut bacon I’ve ever seen, that’s the only time I’ve ever not liked bacon,
I haven't even checked in yet, but due to a schedule change I had to come in a day early. The first reservation I made through the app and I did it as a non cancel reservation. The guys here talked me through how to make a reservation for the earlier night and then went through the trouble of actually linking my reservations so I don't have to change rooms in between nights. Jamel took the time to double check both reservations, adjust what needed to be adjusted,m and make sure my wife and I were taken care of. I haven't even gotten there yet and am already planning on staying here next time i'm in town. It would've been easy for them to say "Sorry, you made the two reservations, that's on you." But they took the time to make sure We were taken care of. That's huge in today's world.
Great experience - Hampton Inn Charlotte/Matthews provided a wonderful, welcoming stay to our 50 Cross Country Runners and Coaches. The rooms were ready - they had a nice thoughtful welcome gift for members of our party and were helpful and gracious throughout our stay. A Special CALL-OUT to Katherine Morgan in Sales - Katherine was AMAZING to work with - responsive, accommodating, and creative in getting our group setup for rooms, conference room, and local services.
