The Hampton Inn & Suites Charlotte - Pineville receives mixed reviews, with many praising the friendly staff, especially Mandy at the front desk, and the convenient location near Midas. However, recurring issues with cleanliness, malfunctioning amenities (toilets, door locks, digital key cards), and construction-related disruptions significantly detract from the guest experience. Recent reviews highlight a decline in overall property maintenance standards.
I have stayed in a A LOT of hotels from Richburg, Rock Hill, Ft.Mill,Pineville & Charlotte.. This one by far was the best I've ever stayed in, The main and Most important reason was because of Mandy at the front desk (She was 1st shift) she was incredibly nice, very helpful and patient, several things she helped me with and had a smile on her face the entire time, i was extending my stay and booked for the following day, she changed it with no issues, another day I couldn't get my tap pay to work, and she waived the $10 deposit for me, those are just 2 of the things that she was helpful with, I could go on. All of the staff was friendly, everywhere ive been Most of them are so hateful! The breakfast was Amazing, the rooms were beautiful, spacious & clean! the cleaning crew didn't harass you , it really was a 10 out of 10, my only complaint was the toilets kept clogging in the room and the lobby was clogged too, but based off the smell in pineville I think that had nothing to do with the hotel...
Clean rooms and excellent location. Had to stay overnight on Friday after dropping my car off at Midas which was right across the street. The price was decent, the rooms were nothing special but clean. They're within walking distance to the mall too. But what really stood out for me was the service, especially from the front desk receptionist Mandy, she was very understanding and accommodating to my situation and was very helpful.
I have been a Diamond/Gold member for several years now. This hotel does not meet the norms of what is expected from a Hilton property. After receiving my room key and entering my room, I noticed the door was busted and would not lock. The deadbolt and the security latch were both unusable. The security latch was ripped out of the door frame and hanging down. Regarding the deadbolt, you can usually wiggle the door up and down or side to side to get it to line up with the opening in the door casing. That was not the case here. It was about 1 inch too high and entirely unusable. Considering there was no option to secure my room door, I returned to the front desk to request a new room. I was initially told that the hotel was completely sold out and no rooms were available, as was the case for almost the entire Charlotte area; everything was sold out on this night. After a few minutes, the hotel agent (who was very friendly by the way) was able to move some things around and put me in a different room. It was very late at night and I had an early departure the next morning, so this was relieving. I entered the new room and was able to lock the door this time. However, I started noticing the room appeared to not be cleaned. The bed was made, but it appeared as if that was the only thing cleaned in that room. The bathroom still had dirty towels on the sink and on the floor from the previous guest. The floors were covered in dirt and stain marks. It appeared as though this hotel had just undergone a recent remodel and there was paint splatter all over the floors and the furniture. The toilet seat was broken. The bathroom sink still had dried toothpaste and grime stuck to it. The shower drain was clogged so I was standing in ankle-deep water while showering. The bathroom was just absolutely disgusting. This particular room also faced a street light that was very bright. The curtains in the room were too small to cover the entire window area so there was a lot of light entering the room. I appreciate the hotels effort to remodel and update but it was done in a very poor and sloppy way. It gave the feeling of "let's just cover up the dirt that was there before." I noticed this hotel has a 4-star rating so it could be that I just had an off-night but it is also very much worth mentioning my experience in a review.
Mandy and Jenny at the front desk were wonderful. They both possess high customer service skills and are super friendly and helpful. Some of the rooms have been updated but in a very cheap way. The first room only had a pull down cheap shade that allowed light in all day and at night from daylight and the parking lot lights. The bathroom sink fixture was loose and the security lock on the door was almost falling off. The bathtub was stained from dirty feet and had not been resurfaced. No smart TV's to be able to stream anything. Minimal TV cable channels with NO movie channels. Construction noise can be heard until late in the night. There was supposed to be a small refrigerator inside of the cabinet but they chose to just put a dorm room refrigerator in the floor where the trash/recycle bin was supposed to be. Barn style doors have been installed instead of a real bathroom door that can be closed. Every single noise from your travel companion can be heard. Safe location.
Construction was going on. Without my knowledge, not being told of this before hand, we were given 2 suites, on the construction floor. Almost $500. Elevator door opened, we were taken aback, thought we were in the Hotels basement. Front Desk, said, no other rooms available. We treated through the workers , the boxes, the piles of tiles, the dirty carpets and got into our rooms. Ask if your room is on the 5th floor before you accept it. The room had minor issues, A toilet so low. You'd think it was for a 3 year old. It was hard to turn the bathroom water on, bathtub was stained. Living room lamp flickered, had to replace bulb . And for 4 of us, there was a half roll of toilet paper. No extra roll. And they brought up 1 roll after I had to use my cell phone to call the front desk, because phone in room did not work! Dirty windows Bed was good, no bed bugs! For almost $500, I expected more from a Hilton related Hotel. Hampton Inn & Suites, I'd like a partial refund for what we recieved.
Stayed this past weekend (in Thursday out Sunday - was supposed to stay till Monday and had enough) and had nothing but problems. As a long time HH member who was diamond status for 8 years prior to this year and a hilton grand owner, I have never been so disgusted to have any association with Hilton. The only employee who actually seemed to care was the assistant manager and maintenance man, neither of which sadly could properly address the biggest issue. The manager and all other employees could care less that a guest was seriously ingured due to an issue that maintenance admitted they knew about... Checked in, was given our key, went to the room, opened the door and the room was occupied. We were mortified. Next day, tried to take a shower, 30 minutes of trying to regulate the water temp between freezing and scalding, thought I finally had it, got in, next thing I know my back side is hit with scalding water. By the time I was able to turn it off my entire front and back had scald burns. Told the front desk, showed them the burns, asked to fill out an incident report, lady was clueless. Asked for the manager to reach out to me. It's now Monday, no manager has reached out. Spoke to the assistant manager who assured me after seeing picture of the burns that the manager would be in contact, guess what, nope. The hotel lobby, halls, and elevators had trash everywhere. The phone in our room didnt work. We had maintenance up there 4 times in 2 days from all the issues in the room. Apparently they have been having phone and water issues and are renovating, none of which is mentioned when booking or checking in. And for management not to reach out after a known by them water issue scalds a guest is unacceptable. I will be speaking with one of the lawyers at work for next steps and filing a report with the health department this week. Absolutely unacceptable response, or lack thereof, and behavior on behalf of management.
I went to North Carolina from December 7th to 9th. My stay was ok. At the hotel there were a bunch of kids and the hotel got really noisy. There were some adults watching these kids and they were all looooud even after 1 am, and the people from the front desk did nothing about it. The room had a humidity problem. The smell sparked some symptoms of allergies to my husband. Also, I could notice mold in the curtains and exterior parts of the lamps, and the hallway floors were a mess once we arrived there. The food was good and the location is great.
VERY happy with our stay here. Easy check-in process and room was clean. Fantastic shower water pressure and clean linens. The breakfast was amazing with so many options. The best we’ve seen in quite a while!
Nitin, Hema, and Shiv are incredible partners in the hospitality industry. They own several hotels (including Hampton Inn & Suites) that we proudly service for waste, and working with them has been an outstanding experience. They are super kind, hospitable, and truly professional. My colleague Devon and I have collaborated with them to adjust services during times of extra capacity, and they’ve always been communicative, accommodating, and solution-oriented. They even invited us to their hotels, giving us the opportunity to learn firsthand about their waste challenges and work together on improvements. These three are leaders in the Charlotte area hospitality space, and we’re proud to work with them!
First time staying here, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Even with renovations about to start, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable when we had an issue with our first room. Danielle, the manager, was absolutely amazing- I got to see how much she juggles, and let’s just say she definitely deserves a raise! The maintenance guy was running circles helping everyone, all while keeping a smile on his face. Jenny and Jeremiah at the front desk were just as awesome- friendly, patient, and so helpful. With a team like this, we’d gladly stay here again!
