Guests praise the hotel for its clean rooms and outstanding friendly staff, particularly at the front desk and restaurant. However, recent reviews highlight significant inconsistencies regarding booking accuracy and functionality, including staff advising guests to switch to alternative accommodations.
**Hilton Garden Inn Pineville — One-Night Stay Review** I stayed one night at the Hilton Garden Inn in Pineville, North Carolina, and overall it was a very solid experience with standout customer service. Check-in started at the front desk because my mobile key wasn’t ready in the app. The front desk staff were superb—friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. They clearly explained all amenities, breakfast and dinner hours, and the bar area. When you’re traveling, that kind of information and clarity really matters, and it was much appreciated. The room layout is practical and well thought out. When you enter, the closet is on the right and the bathroom on the left. There’s a compact kitchenette-style cabinet with a refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker, microwave, and ice bucket. One note: the in-room creamers are all artificial, so if you prefer real cream, it’s best to bring your own or grab some downstairs before heading up. The room includes a chest of drawers with the TV on top, a proper work desk with a lamp, and an ergonomic desk chair made of molded plastic rather than peeling pleather—a smart design choice that other hotels should copy. Lighting is good overall, with a lamp in the corner, a lamp between the two beds, and a light at the entry door. Power access is excellent. Two lamps (the desk lamp and the bedside lamp) include AC outlets, and the bedside lamp also has USB ports. There are two additional power outlets above the desk, along with an alarm clock and telephone. The room also features a full-length mirror, luggage rack, iron and ironing board in the closet, and a hair dryer in the bathroom. Cleanliness throughout the room was excellent. There is ongoing remodeling upstairs. While this is a positive long-term improvement, I would personally choose a room one floor down next time to create a buffer from construction noise. That said, the hotel clearly posts construction notices on their website and elsewhere, so guests are informed in advance and can request room placement accordingly. Checkout was just as positive as check-in. The front desk associate was very friendly while they were wrapping up breakfast service. I hadn’t eaten at the hotel, but I asked if I could run my items to the car and come back in with my travel mug for coffee. She said that was no problem. When I returned and found the coffee carafe empty, she immediately noticed, went to another area, and personally filled my cup—no request needed. That level of attentiveness is excellent hospitality. Overall, this was a clean, comfortable stay with genuinely strong customer service from start to finish.
I stayed last week as I came in town for an 50th birthday party and I had Andre as a breakfast server who was very attentive, he refilled my coffee and recommended places in the area. He had great customer service. The Food and Beverage Manager Brittany prepared a very delicious omelette for me and I am allergic to tomatoes and she came out to make sure she made it herself to ensure I didn’t have an allergic reaction to anything. Taylor the AGM checked me in and made sure I had everything I needed. Dee Dee made sure that I had clean linen and towels daily and my room was cleaned. I will definitely be coming back next year and looking forward to the renovations! Great staff!
Average rooms. Mattress slightly worn out on one side. Water pipes inside shower wall make noise from vibration. Breakfast buffet service is extremely disappointing. No bowls for cereal or oatmeal, only very small ones or fruit. It requires using 2 or 3 for oatmeal/toppings. Lobby garbage can consistently overflowing. The floor around the can look as it never gets cleaned. Complimentary water in lobby usually empty. Staff serviced my room and forgot to restock the bathroom towels. Overall it was the worst experience at a Hilton Garden Inn.
I'm thoroughly disappointed. I booked through Expedia and through some mishap with the system, the room I booked isn't available. (More so due to a group coming in on Saturday which doesn't make sense because I'm checking in days earlier.) I came here for my sister's birthday and booked a two bed room only to be given a king sized bed. Expedia and Hilton need to work through their communication. I was only given the options of either canceling (no fee) which would leave me without a room or book somewhere else last minute with high prices or free breakfast. I did decide with the breakfast but it's disappointing because my sister was supposed to stay with me and now she has to drive daily to pick me up and drop me off at the hotel.
I specifically booked a room with this hotel because they had an indoor swimming pool. We were taking our granddaughter to watch a hockey game across the street for her birthday and she loves to swim. We got there and the pool was drained. The website didn't indicate the pool was closed. They also did not have WIFI in the rooms. There were a few people at the front desk inquiring about WIFI access in their rooms not working. Hotel was clean. That is about the only positive thing I can say.
10/31/25!!!! Please don’t stay here, this hotel looks nice upon entry. But it’s definitely not a place to stay for nights.. I drove 3/hrs just to walk in a hallways that smells musty, carpet is dirty, the beds are old, the pillows are almost nothing! The tub, fixtures, windows, I hate I even paid my hard earned money to stay in this dirty place. I was informed of no refund because of third party, and that’s fine. But this hotel needs to be renovated but I guess for the price weed heads can stay here and wear the place down. I’ll never stay at this place again. So I don’t not recommend. And yes I’m writing this on the day I checked in ;-/
Wondering what has happened to Hilton. My room had zero USB outlets. Having them by the bed, desk, or both is pretty much table stakes for any hotel these days. They use liquid dispensers for lotion, shampoo, etc. and one of mine was empty. When I tried to call housekeeping about it, their phone didn't work. Mobile check-in worked but when I tried to check out I was told to go to the front desk. When I did they said the checkout had actually worked. Bed was comfy, and digital key worked.
A completely predictable, comfortable, and uneventful stay. I don’t think there is much else anyone can ask for from a HGI, and I will certainly choose it again when I am back in the area. Safe and convenient location, close to all the things. I stayed in Charlotte for 4 days and needed a place to briefly rest and unwind each night. I didn’t eat the breakfast, I didn’t swim in the pool, I didn’t use the gym. I just parked, showered, slept, and made coffee each morning before heading back out - and this hotel helped me do all of those things perfectly. The bed was comfy, the room was clean and quiet, the AC was cold, the shower was hot, and the fridge and microwave were incredibly useful. Maybe the decor is a little dated, but it all felt homey and everything is very clean. Every staff member was warm and efficient, too!
My parents got me and my husband a honeymoon suite at Hilton Garden Inn it was absolutely breath taking ? from the moment you walk in super clean! And absolutely beautiful ? Sense we got the honeymoon package it came with a very nice bottle of champagne ??which was a nice touch ? and some beautiful decor they also included a congulations card for us on our marriage ? the staff was friendly and helpful very attentive!?? the breakfast down stairs was delicious ? I've never been to a hotel that has made me not want to go home but this one did ?? truly a memory ill keep forever thanks to Hilton Garden Inn ?? I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ?
It was old and outdated. The bathroom had 90's wallpaper that had been patched in several places. The bathroom ceiling also showed where it was sagging from the floor above. I was looking forward to the indoor pool, and it was closed for maintenance. The bed was also so soft it was uncomfortable. Breakfast was not included. I've stayed at Best Westerns that are way nicer, and have better amenities.
