This property receives extremely low ratings from recent reviews, with guests frequently reporting theft, bed bugs, and broken amenities like AC and beds. While a few previous stays praised specific staff members, the overwhelming sentiment is one of poor value, unsanitary conditions, and insufficient customer service.
I had a horrible experience at Charlotte. Room service moved and rummaged through my things. I had personal belongings stolen and my room rearranged on me. No streaming services available…DO NOT STAY HERE!!! In response to “Reply” comment.. Well of course your “employees” are gonna say they didn’t..I went to the front desk and complained immediately as soon as I noticed. I was also informed the manager would give me an immediate call in the morning and I didn’t hear a single sorry or word from them. Even after I followed up…don’t make me the bad guy here… just DO BETTER
This was hands down one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. We got there late at night and were told they had given away our room. They were able to give us another room, but not with two beds like the one we had reserved. After walking around the other local hotels with all of our luggage while I’m 7 months pregnant we finally came back and decided to take the room with one bed out of desperation. The lady at the front desk was super rude at first, but she did change her tune a little when she realized it was their mistake for canceling our room and not mine. We were so grossed out a few minutes after arriving in the room. There were spiders and hair in our bed, mold in the ceilings, stains on the walls and cracks in the tiles. I spoke with the front desk and be begged for a refund on the second night so that we could figure out a different plan for the next day, but they only offered to change us to a different room just like the one we had. The next morning, I went down to the café early to order my daughter’s breakfast so that she could eat before she started her dance convention, but when we came back 20 minutes later to pick up her bagel, they had forgotten about it. I had to wait 10 minutes to get a refund on it while she toasted a bagel for someone else who had just walked up. Every encounter with the front desk task was unpleasant. They were rude and on two different occasions complained to me. The first one about her back pain and the second one complained to me about how she was the only one doing everything. The housekeeping service finally came to our room late during the second day, but what they did was minimal at best. They basically made the bed and gave us a couple hand towels, but did not replace any of the dishes or instant coffee. I can’t tell you how happy I was to leave this hotel and never come back. I would recommend avoiding it at all costs!
If you don’t like concrete beds, don’t stay here. I was told to deal with the hard bed or sleep on the sofa. My fridge didn’t work and they said “well plug it in” I will never come back to this location.
The check-in process was very disappointing. Someone from the back office had to check us in and did not know how the process works. He had to follow instructions on his phone, call someone for help and after 10 minutes only gave us one key. We received no information about the hotel. As a loyal Bonvoy member I expected a follow up, however that never happened. The hotel is very dated and run down. I will not stay again or recommend it to anyone else.
The rooms were tolerable. Beds need to be replaced. The AC units didn’t work or were really loud, shower curtain rod was coming out of the wall and there was water damage by the tub. The sink drained slow in the mini kitchen. The door jam looked like it had been crowbarred open a dozen times.
I chose to do a staycation at this property, and the staff was extremely nice, friendly, and helpful throughout my stay. I gave four stars solely due to the poor water pressure in my room and concerns about cleanliness, as there were bottle caps scattered throughout the room, which made it feel as though it had not been properly cleaned.
Fantastic staff. OK rooms. The whole Bistro concept is terrible. The local team tries, but it is bad overpriced food that needs to be addressed at a corporate level. Getting pretty sick and tired of Courtyards.
It was a nice room. Friendly staff, and a Bistro on site so you don't have to leave to eat. BUT my trash was never emptied, I didn't get fresh cups for the coffee maker, or even a new bag for the ice bucket. In three days! And there is no free breakfast. So, really not meeting expectations. I didn't expect fresh sheets or towels. But I did expect the trash to be emptied and the coffee cups (disposable paper) replaced. Is that too much to ask?
Great experience, special thanks to the lady working the front desk, believe her name was Jennifer, but she went over and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. Her positive attitude was amazing. Will recommend!
Bed was one of the lower quality beds I’ve slept in for a LONG time of traveling. I fly and stay at hotels at least 20 times a year. The staff was lovely. But there was toilet paper scraps in the toilet. The room was VERY small for a KING suite…. My bedroom at home is bigger. They give you two large towels, a couple mediums and two washcloths. The staff couldn’t even tell me what the bistro was serving. There was no menu in the room. I had to go and get redressed and walk down there just to learn They didn’t have anything that I wanted. The soaps are mounted into the wall like it’s some motel. I paid more for this hotel than I have for any hotel this year. I will book with literally any other marriot next time I’m in town. Waste of $200. Oh and no free breakfast. Just an over priced “Starbucks they call a bistro”
