Comfort Suites University - Research Park consistently receives negative feedback, highlighting significant cleanliness issues, ruddy staff interactions, and operational problems. Recurring concerns include infestations, broken amenities, and inadequate guest service, creating a generally unpleasant experience for visitors. While some reviews mention a convenient location and generally comfortable beds, these positives are heavily outweighed by the frequent complaints.
Our experience at this hotel was disappointing due to the lack of diligence and urgency in addressing guest concerns. There never seemed to be any rush to fix issues. We waited three days for hangers, and they were finally placed in our wardrobe just one day before we were leaving the city. The blankets were torn and stained, which raised serious concerns about cleanliness. There were also fruit flies around the water dispenser, making us wonder whether the filters are being changed and maintained properly. In addition, when I asked for plasticware at the front desk, the staff member dismissively placed them on the desk without any courtesy or acknowledgment. In conclusion, the staff came across as rude and indifferent throughout our stay. They did not seem to care about their customers or take their concerns seriously. Good hospitality is not only about providing a room but also about treating guests with respect and addressing problems promptly. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here.
Find another place to stay!! Police signs and hotel signs, saying don't leave any valuable items in your car. They are not responsible for your car. They told me I needed to also pay a deposit of $100 on top of my hotel bill. (I'm not really sure what would have happened if I didn't have it.) The curtains and windows in the room, looked like they haven't been washed it years. The fabric on the chair was ripped. The elevator was broken.
This place looks nice on the internet but in person jesus!!! its so sketchy in the area its in and I know that area has its ups and downs but this place needs a complete upgrade and i wish i wouldve never wasted my money staying here. The staff was rude , the breakfast was trash and it was one elevator working. My classmate and I stayed here so we could attend class for orientation for two days and they gave us a corner room. The wifi didnt work in our room and we couldnt connect to it. there were stains all in the carpet and on curtains, the toilet paper holder was rusted and broken and our mini fridge barely worked. I was scared to use the microwave because I thought it was going to fall. Our keys stopped working to the door and the beds were not comfortable at all. and the TV was so small. I dont know how they continue to let them run this hotel with these rooms looking like this and the furniture and walls were all scratched up the desk chair had the leather peeling off of it and the icing on the cake was there was some man so high on drugs in the parking lot checking out someones motorcyle and touching it. I was scared for my life. I will never in my life stay at this dump ever again. and half of the people that were staying there looked a mess. this hotel was not my cup of tea. yes i am picky and a bit boujie but this hotel was unacceptable and even the dining area furniture was peeling and looked awful.
Hotel itself is ok. It’s clean. You can definitely tell it’s old, but it serves its purpose. The staff isn’t very friendly. They could definitely use some customer service training. I booked through a 3rd party booking agency for 2 nights. I checked in everything was ok. The next day around 1pm I get a knock on my room door from the front desk rep telling me I was supposed to have checked out. I told her I booked for 2 nights. She said she only had me for 1 night. I pulled up the confirmation email on my phone and showed her. She said she’d go downstairs and check again. I told her then that I was in the middle of a work call. A few mins later she started calling my cell phone back to back repeatedly. I had to pause my work call to answer and she asked for the confirmation number again so I gave it to her. Then a few mins later another woman knocked on my room door saying the manager said they couldn’t find my reservation and they sold out and I had to get out. I told her I paid for 2 nights and showed the confirmation email. She shrugged her shoulders at me. I contacted the booking company and they called the hotel directly and they luckily got me to another hotel close by and that hotel had very nice staff. Also, before all of the issues with the reservation early in the morning I went outside and the door was apparently locked and the heavy set man working the front was extremely rude because I pressed the exit button on the keypad by the door. It was ridiculous it’s like everyone that works there hates their job and they’re grumpy. Would expect more from choice hotels
For starters the receptionist Monique needs a raise. She is very wonderful. Secondly this hotel needs a EXTERMINATOR BAD!!! So the stay was for 2 days I only stayed 1 because of the bed bugs. 1st room had bug running on the bed. 2nd room had them crawling on the curtain and them bugs look like ticks. I sent manager a email of both rooms that had bugs and ask for a refund she denied my refund. PLEASE DONT STAY FIND ANOTHER OPTION!!!
Arrived at hotel late after driving long hours, Nasir was very efficient and made sure we got a good nights rest. Beds were comfortable, soft pillows and breakfast was good
Hotel receptionist Indian man was very rude and racist. The owner or manager he called has horrible customer service. I was charged $101.76 twice for a deposit that is only listed at $100. On Christmas no one tried to assist me they tried to check me out of my room on Christmas after everything was paid for. I'm a diamond member I go to choice hotels all over the country. I have never been treated so rude and nasty in my life after paying for a service. I will never stay in this hotel again!!!!
We recently hosted our annual organization meeting for 75 people at Comfort Suite's Meeting Room, and the experience was truly exceptional. The meeting room was bright, spacious, and provided a comfortable environment for an all-day session. The hotel team was gentle, genuinely friendly, and incredibly attentive. The combination of a truly nice facility and the staff's genuinely friendly and professional approach made our annual meeting a resounding success. We highly recommend Comfort Suites University - Research Park and will definitely be back next year
We booked this hotel from 10/10/25 to 10/12/25, and it was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. Our first night there, room 718 was completely infested with roaches. They were all over the bathroom crawling on the toilet, in the tub, up the walls, and all over the floor. It was absolutely disgusting and unsanitary. We left the very next morning and told the front desk why we couldn’t stay another night. We were told refunds have to be approved by the “owner,” but none of the staff even seem to know who he is personally. I’ve called every day since, and as of 10/14/25, no one has contacted me or refunded us for the nights we didn’t stay. This place is filthy, poorly managed, and completely unprofessional. Do yourself a favor don’t waste your money here. There are plenty of other hotels that actually value cleanliness and customer service.
Very mixed review. The bad: we showed up on a Friday evening and were informed that their terminals were down so they couldn’t take payments or new reservations…No big deal, we had a reservation and paid with our choice hotels credit card. Except we’re then told they needed a deposit for incidentals and that we should have been told that earlier that day (we weren’t). I’m assuming at the beginning that she’s telling me they weren’t collecting this since they can’t take any payments…no, they expected us to use an ATM for cash. We use the ATM in the lobby and pay the fees since it was not an ATM for our bank. We had to pay the penalty for the hotel’s system being down. Worth noting that there’s literally a sign sitting on the desk saying that as of July 2025 they do not accept cash. The irony! When we went to check out, I had to ask for the money back, it was not offered to me. It was also literally sitting in an envelope within reach of the patron side of the desk, anyone could have grabbed a handful of the envelopes walking by if they knew what they were doing. AND of course they didn’t check our room before they gave the deposit back so they didn’t know if we had trashed the room or not. Completely pointless. The other downside was the second night I realize we weren’t give utensils with the takeout we had gotten and brought back to the hotel. Went to the desk to ask if I could use two utensils from the breakfast area. I walk up to the desk and from a room in the back hear “YES?”….theres no one else there but I just wait bc I assume she wasn’t taking to me. Apparently the host has a camera screen or something bc after a few seconds she followed it up with “WHAT DO YOU WANT!?!?”. I hollered back asking if I could get a fork from the breakfast area and she yelled back “NO ITS LOCKED!” …umm okay. I’m assuming she didn’t have a key or maybe just lazy, idk. Either way, a bare minimum is to at least get up and talk to my face. I never even saw her. The hospitality side of the hotel is desperately lacking. Pros: room was clean and comfy and the hotel was quiet and conveniently located. Breakfast was good and the cleaning and breakfast staff were friendly.
