Guests praise the spacious suites, convenient SouthPark location, and particularly exceptional staff service. While most reviews highlight a positive experience, significant concerns were raised regarding inconsistent housekeeping cleanliness, a decline in breakfast quality, and access issues with the parking garage key cards.
This was an abrupt trip to NC to visit a family that was in hospice care. I had to travel with my dog due to the short notice. When I have to take the dog to a hotel I always choose a room at the end of the hall on the lower level to limit disturbing other patrons. I chose my room and arrived after 4pm and my room wasn’t available. They still were able to put us in a room on the lowest level at the end of the hall. The room they put us in should have been off line because the heat/cooling unit sounded like a helicopter. I didn’t choose to move because I didn’t want a different floor and I’m not really a AC or heat person and the weather outside was mild. Other than that the room and facilities is beautiful. They have good variety for breakfast but I wasn’t really a fan of the hot food. a nice bar / restaurant. The girl that worked the bar was very nice. one night they closed early for staffing issues and she still accommodated us. The guy that works with her however seemed to have an altitude as if we inconvenienced him. Front desk staff were nice the front desk manager was warm and welcoming. I saw the manager interacting with guest and even walked an older lady to the breakfast area. Im regret I didn’t get his name because he deserves a shout out. he was an African American slim built guy and we talked briefly about our dogs. He said he has a blue nose pittbull and i had the same. One thing i didn’t like is that they have $10 covered and uncovered parking but there is no entry from the garage you have to walk through the lot back outside to the only entrance at the front.
It's not the worst hotel I've stayed at. My rating was based on value relative to the price. The room I stayed in was ok. I reserved it as a suite. It had a sofa bed, but the room isn't large enough to qualify as a suite in my opinion. Dinner service in the bar was super slow. The person that took my order apologized on how late the food was when it came out. The food was kinda cold. Access to the parking requires a key, but my room key would not work, even the 2nd one they gave me. I had to push the green button on the display screen to get out and take a ticket each time to get in over 3 days. The staff was pleasant. I don't think the hotel gets most details right.
I had a wonderful stay!! Curtis at the front desk was very attentive with a positive attitude and a great smile! He made sure we had what was needed during our stay! If you are thinking about staying here do not hesitate go ahead and reserve your stay you will enjoy! Thanks again to Curtis for his awesome hospitality!!
We stayed here Valentine’s weekend. We have stayed here often. It is our hotel of choice when in Charlotte, NC. Upon check in, Melissa was our clerk. She was friendly and helpful. Saturday, valentines morning, we walked to the parking area to find that our vehicle had the back passenger window smashed and items stolen. Several other vehicles were the same-mainly pick up trucks. In the past we have enjoyed the included breakfast. The quality has deteriorated significantly. Staff are friendly and the venue is clean, but the breakfast quality is poor with a consistent Mexican restaurant style palate. Today even the oatmeal served was cold and nearly uncooked. We love this hotel, please improve security and food quality. I can’t stress enough that this is our go to hotel - so please improve breakfast quality - and we look forward to safer stays and yummier breakfasts!
Three stars because of the condition of the room. It was haphazardly put together and looked like it was cleaned in a hurry, which is probably true. I understand that housekeeping generally doesn't have a lot of time to turnover rooms. Besides that, the front desk service was good and I like the location. I'd be willing to return, but maybe try the Hilton Garden Inn side next time.
I've just spent 14 nights here and the place felt like home. Room temperature was perfect, kitchen had all necessary utensils. Daily breakfast is very good, great variety of healthy items, freshly cooked hot meals. Location is also perfect, few minutes walk to shopping centres, Wholefoods, Walgrens etc, beautiful area to walk around. Staff are attentive, courteous, helpful. Special mention to some staff who made my stay extra special: Anthony, Kurtis and Rashad...thank you for your time and kindness! I hope to come back to enjoy autumn in Charlotte.
Beautiful hotel!! Front desk service and breakfast service was great! Rashad was so welcoming when we arrived! Absolutely great customer service by Rashad, Darryl and Curtis!! Housekeeping could use some more training or encouragement from their manager to step it up a notch. We had to go ask her for refills for coffee products as well as other people on the floor. She didn’t make up the bed, didn’t wipe anything down, didn’t refill things.
My wife and I just spent 9 days there and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. We were in town for the Pop Warner Nationals for Football and Cheer (12/5 -12/13). I got in late (1am) do to traffic and road conditions, but the night staff was polite, courteous and got me in my room quickly. The lobby fireplace was going and the halls smelled of the holidays (still don't know what it was, but it put a smile on my face every time I noticed it). The room was clean and the kitchen cabinets were furnished with the basics for cooking and eating (and cleaning up afterwards too!). The King size bed was comfortable and we had 5-6 soft pillows. The shower was hot with plenty of water pressure. Even the pull out love seat was comfortable to lay on (normal or when pulled out). The desk was nice to use and the room was well lit. During my stay, I needed to use the laundry facilities and was able to get change, soap and dryer sheets at the desk. Breakfast every morning always had plenty (fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts, muffins, eggs, potatoes, sausage in multiple forms, waffles, burrito/taco wraps, oatmeal, breads and bagels, etc.) and the area was kept up very well (not waiting on refills, cleanups, or anything else you might have asked). Some have complained about the price of parking, however, there was a clean parking lot with spaces available and at no time did it take more then a couple of minutes to park and access the hotel. Throughout my stay all of the staff (desk, cleaning, etc.) were top notch. This was our first stay in Charlotte and even thought the weather was not pleasant (most days were 28-34F with 15-20mph winds) I hope Pop Warner pairs us with them again next year!
We were displaced for a few days due to some demolition and reconstruction work being done in our condo. We chose the Homewood suites because it was near where we live. From the moment we walked in Darrell, at the front desk, made us feel warm and welcomed. The hotel room was clean and well stocked with what we needed to get our stay started. Breakfast each morning was an absolute delight. There was a variety each day and very enjoyable.
We recently had an amazing stay at HOMEWOOD SUITES SOUTHPARK. Every morning, the employees would create a warm and inviting atmosphere for us. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay truly enjoyable. We had a spacious and comfortable room, and the staff was always ready to assist us with any needs we may have had. One of the best aspects of this hotel was its location. We didn’t have to leave the property, which was especially convenient when traveling with young children. The restaurant and bar downstairs were great, offering fast and delicious service. Overall, we highly recommend booking your stay here. Everything was clean and well maintained, and the staff was always ready to make our stay memorable.
