Recent reviews for the Embassy Suites by Hilton Charlotte Uptown reveal a mixed experience, with highlights centered around exceptional staff service and a convenient location. However, significant concerns have been raised regarding inconsistent room assignments, management issues, and maintenance problems affecting room quality, particularly the dated furnishings and broken amenities.
Nice rooms, valet, and breakfast…terrible management Upon arriving at the hotel with a confirmed booking, the front desk informed me that they had no room for me. I had already checked in online and received room numbers, but they said that the guest in my room extended his stay, and the room was no longer available. They were “sold out” so had no more rooms, or so I was told. After complaining and waiting 20 minutes, they came back with two rooms, probably taken from somebody else. I got my keys and went to those rooms. I booked two connecting rooms, but the new rooms they assigned were not connected, so back to the front desk I go. They said they had no connecting rooms. Well I had kids with me, so this was a huge disruption. I asked for an explanation from Miss Boutros on how this could happen when I had already checked in online and was assigned room numbers. I was met with excuses and a defensive posture. She made it out to seem like she had no other choice but to extend the other guest’s stay. Her story changed more than once. She even had the audacity to say “but he is a gold member”. Unbelievable. I’m only giving 2 stars instead of 1 because my reservation was comped. This situation was very easy to avoid. If all of your rooms are sold out and a guest asks to extend - you tell them there is no room, and that’s that. And when you screw up and upset a guest like me, apologize and admit that you were wrong and this is not okay. Don’t defend yourself and act like this is just how things work. Miss Boutros needs more management & customer service training.
I stayed here with a friend for Heroes Con. We drove two and half hours and my 2019 Honda Fit died in front of the valet station. Ended up being a defective fuel pump and I had to get it towed. Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly, patient, and understanding. Definitely need to give a shout-out to one of the maintenance guys, Ricco McMillan. He went above and beyond trying to help me figure out what was going on and get me going again. We've stayed at the Embassy quite a few times for Heroes Con, and the staff have always stood out as warm and welcoming.
Staff was friendly, rooms were clean and quiet. Happy hour drinks were a nice plus with decent snacks along with it. Parking is tough so I would recommend the valet service. It's a bit pricy but if you are staying here you likely have money haha. Breakfast was great. A step up from Hampton. They have a fresh omelet bar that is ready fast as well. Would stay again!
My family recently stayed at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Charlotte Uptown, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. From the moment we walked through the doors, we felt genuinely welcomed. A huge shoutout to Shelly T. at the front desk! She handled our check-in and was absolutely wonderful. She was professional, warm, and incredibly accommodating, ensuring our family had everything we needed to get settled in quickly. It’s rare to find that level of personalized service, and she truly set a positive tone for our entire stay. The hotel itself was great, but it’s the staff like Shelly who make it a place we look forward to returning to. If you’re looking for a comfortable stay with a team that actually cares about your experience, this is a Highly recommended spot!
This was my first time visiting Charlotte, and this hotel has given me an amazing first impression of the city. Our room was clean and tidy upon our arrival. The pullout sofa was surprisingly spacious and comfy. I really wish I could give an extra star for the amazing service during our stay. Monique at the front desk made us feel extra welcome and safe for our runs around the city, and she truly made us feel special throughout our whole stay! The complimentary breakfast was delicious and the dining/serving area was always clean. The staff often offered to take our used plates and trash after we finished, too. Overall, the service and wonderful staff are what made this hotel so enjoyable. The location within Charlotte is super convenient, too. I visited the NASCAR museum, which was just across the street, and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. The light rail line is just a block away, along with the Rail Trail which was a super convenient running trail. This was one of the best hotels I've stayed at, and I hope to visit Charlotte and the Embassy Suites again!
I really enjoyed my time at this hotel. The rooms were nice and well-maintained, and the location was absolutely perfect for getting around. A huge shoutout to the front desk team—Shelly, Ashley, Miracle, and Ron—who were all fantastic and made the stay seamless. I also really enjoyed the menu at the bar; the food and drinks were a great touch. One minor thing to note was that I couldn't get into my room until after 4:00 PM, which was a bit annoying at the time. However, the team was very professional and made up for it by accommodating a late check-out for me. Overall, I was very happy staying here. It’s a solid choice that definitely does the job for a good price.
Our American Airlines flight was delayed and AA arranged a stay for us at Embassy Suites Uptown. We were exhausted after a long travel day, but Ms. Monique at the front desk was incredibly warm and helpful. She made our short stay smooth and even kindly lent us her own phone charger. Her kindness really made a difference. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!
Everything about my stay was 10 out of 10. The location is perfect if you're going to an event at Spectrum Center. It's only a 7 min walk. Dinner and breakfast both were really good and I really enjoyed the evening reception. Overall my stay was extremely pleasant and I will definitely return.
I would give a -5 if I could. We got checked into a room with the AC broken and had to sit in the hallways for 2hours waiting for someone to fix this. As we were getting into the room, a repair person walked in right behind us. We thought it was just a courtesy routine check of the AC to make sure it was set to the correct temp since it was the winter. "Wow how thoughtful" we thought. No, the system was broken and not working, not they were trying to get to the room before we arrived. They knew the HVAC was broken and the heater was running at 80+degrees, the room was swelting hot! They tried to swing us by saying they were giving us a discount to the room at our checkin, which by the way the was the amount we got when we booked online. We didn't think much of it and just assumed they were being gracious hosts only to realize it was a ploy all along. There were no other rooms in the hotel and after 2hours we had to leave as they couldn't fix it. It was 11pm by then and had to scramble around looking for accommodations elsewhere. We ended up in another hotel in south Charlotte. We wanted an uptown experience and vacation away but ended 40mins away. Hotel was booked a weeks before. The customer service was the worst experience. They were so dismissive, especially the hotel manager. Just an awful experience. They turn what supposed to be a relaxing fun experience into a frustrating nightmare. They could have just been transparent from the start. But their dismissive attitude was so unnecessary. We were trying to be understanding as things break unexpectedly but they just didn't care disappointment. I DO NO RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.
Everything about the Embassy Suites was AWESOME! Starting with my check-in with Ron Gaskin, to Kaci who provided me with a suite to accommodate my group of visitors. Locations was prefect for the convention center event. The morning breakfast was great. The bar and the happy hour was unreal. I highly recommend the Embassy Suites for those traveling to Charlotte. And a huge THANK YOU to all of the staff there. There's nothing better than being greeted with a smile.
