The Aloft Charlotte Ballantyne is located in a vibrant entertainment district with numerous restaurants and shops, offering convenient access to the Ballantyne Amp and surrounding attractions. While guests appreciate the location and friendly staff, some have experienced noise issues due to its proximity to outdoor events and a high concentration of dog-friendly rooms.
Great hotel. Great location. Bathrooms not the greatest layout if you're staying with a friend. The shower and toilet are in a small room with a sliding door, but there is no place to set anything, even in the shower. The sink and dressing area are out in the open. Very close walking distance to the concert venue if you're coming to see a show. Surrounded by lots of restaurants and a little light shopping.
Please check the concert schedule at the Ballantyne Amp if you have small children who need to sleep! The Amp is an outdoor event venue and the curfew for outdoor noise is apparently 11 pm. White noise did absolutely nothing to drown out the noise of the concert happening next door and my daughter was miserable. The front desk was very nice and offered to move us to a more interior room. The hotel was fine, I just wish it had come with a disclaimer that it’s literally right next door to an outdoor event venue and you’ll be able to hear every note. So, if it weren’t for my kids needing to sleep, this would have been a perfectly fine stay. You can’t beat the walking amenities!
It was a pretty decent hotel, very modern in esthetics, not really my vibe or style, one of the weird things was you had to put a key in a slot for the lights to work, which I found a bit strange to adapt to. We were supposed to stay next door at The Ballentyne Luxury Hotel, but for some reason those pans fell through and the next option was The Aloft. We really wanted to to stay at The Ballentyne and would have a more luxurious stay.
A convenient hotel location outside of downtown Charlotte, the hip and fairly new Ballantine district. So many restaurants and businesses here, with ponds, activities and beauty. Large brewery onsite with beer garden. Good walking opportunities. A huge amphitheater in this area. They call this area the BOWL. Bummer is the paid parking, not for the hotel however, hotel parking is free. My Marriott Charlotte Ballantyne stay was not ideal, room 105. Because of my 66 year old right knee I asked to stay on the first floor, little did I realize that the first floor seems to be the pet friendly floor (dog kennel) at this hotel. So many dogs barking in the rooms that I could easily hear into the late PM hours. Nearly each room near me had a "dog staying here" dog hanger on the door knob. Each dog seemed to be feeding off one another with the barking process, hard to get some proper sleep until after midnight. I suspect many dog owners left their pets alone on the 3 evenings I stayed, thus dogs were lonely and barking in this new environment for them. Avoiding dogs in the hallways was another issue. Nice bar in the hotel lobby. Fun pool table in the lobby. No free breakfast. Plenty of free parking. A smallish indoor swimming pool. We stayed 3 nights but never got room service, don't know what the problem was, staff at lobby seemed unconcerned about my negative experience. I had to ask for new towels at the lobby reception desk twice during my stay. Staff seemed unmotivated to help. Aloft is aloof! This hotel needs to step up their game in customer satisfaction and service for this price. Not happy, will NOT stay here again.
I enjoyed my stay here. There was a slight issue with housekeeping that was due to a misunderstanding and the front desk was very accommodating. It’s in the perfect location near tons of food options and the bowl. Check out my TikTok @catchmechilln for a more detailed review of the room!
I took a few of my kids here for a quick getaway. The staff and rooms were excellent. My kids loved the indoor heated pool as well. It’s also the perfect location; walkable to tons of restaurants. We will be staying again.
They made some great design choices and some poor design choices. Great is the fact that you can leave the ac on constantly blowing fan. Poor is the frosted glass in the shower facing the bedroom. Basically you can’t shower if you have your children in the room with you. The location and staff are excellent.
Excellent stay. Fantastic customer service, and not only dog friendly, but dog welcoming. Rooms were clean, which is my #1 concern when staying away from home. Very convenient location in a nice area that’s close to several restaurants.
We stayed at an Aloft in Jacksonville Fl and Charlotte because the rate was good, no fee for our 2 small dogs, a ground floor room to get the dogs out quickly, and great pet relief areas around the property. The room was excellent--clean, roomy, lots of counter space for our stuff and low beds. Service was excellent. The hotel didn't have cooked to order breakfast, but the grab and go had what we needed for breakfast and lunch on the road at a reasonable cost. I would only ask for a Keurig in the room, but we did find that they put out free hot coffee by 5:45 AM. We ate at Flower Child next door (great!) and had ice ream too nearby. This was the perfect hotel for us!
A few weeks ago was my first time staying at this hotel while in town for an event. The staff is amazing. The room was fresh and clean. The location was perfect and parking was plentiful. But ... What I liked the most about this hotel is that they are one of the few, who doesn't charge a fee for pets. This is very considerate especially with the current climate that we are in. Because of this as the main reason, amongst the other reasons listed, I will continue to stay at this hotel in the future and I highly recommend this hotel to others.
