Consistently praised for its prime city center location, modern rooms, and friendly hotel staff who receive numerous personal shout-outs. Guests frequently report excellent quality beds and easy elevator access to nearby shopping districts.
Good location and easy access to Queen City Quarter directly from the hotel’s elevator. When we stayed they offered complimentary 12pm checkout (instead of 11am), which is much appreciated. But Don’t forget to bring your umbrellas because they don’t have any to lend you.
My stay at this hotel was absolutely amazing and relaxing from start to finish. The atmosphere was peaceful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and everything exceeded my expectations. It truly felt like a getaway where I could unwind and recharge. I want to personally recognize Mr. Eric Dunn for providing immaculate service. His professionalism, attentiveness, and warm personality made the experience even more special. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, and that level of care does not go unnoticed. Thank you for such a wonderful experience — I will definitely be returning!
I checked into this hotel on 2/26/26. I was assigned Room 912. After a quick nap, my throat felt itchy but I just said “maybe I need some allergy medicine.” My wife and I went to sleep that night and BOTH OF US started having a bad headache and sore throats (throat felt dry). It was worse when we woke up. Once again, we assumed “we were getting sick” but this time I noticed that when we left the room, the itchy throat and headache left. When we returned, we looked outside the window and noticed there was some type of dryer vent. I went to the front desk and manager to explain the situation. They couldn’t explain the situation but the offered to switch my room. I didn’t think this was addressing the situation but my wife really wanted to change room to see if we would get the same symptoms. The staff moved us to Room 903. We slept like a baby. Summary: The staff were great and attentive, but hotel guests should beware of staying in Room 912 or any room on that side. This is my 3rd stay at this hotel but this will make me question whether to stay again. The parking was easy. The staff were great. Location was great. I just wanted to inform the public.
Omg I can't rave enough about the AC Hotel. Think I set myself up because now I will want to stay here everytime I come to the Spectrum Center. So convenient. And Tysha Williams in the restaurant is so awesome. Such a vibrant soul and spirit. She's a keeper!
Way over priced for quality (which is mediocre at best). Can hear all noises in hall (doors opening/shutting, which is pretty normal in a hotel) were extremely loud from inside the room. I had couple in room next to me having a good time watching tv, talking (….also normal activity in a hotel) and could hear most all of it. Restaurant on roof is lovely but again, wildly overprices. Also neither restaurant (lobby or roof) was open during the day for lunch/drinks on a Saturday. For reference, I was visiting Charlotte from Chicago, where I live, so I’m not a stranger to city pricing. But for what you get here, this was obscenely over priced. Wouldn’t stay here again.
Brian exceeded my expectations when accommodating to me to ensure I felt taken care of and prioritized. He ensured my stay was satisfactory and went above and beyond to make sure I felt accommodated. Thank you Brian for a memorable stay!
Unfortunately our check-in experience was unnecessarily unpleasant. Check in is at 3:00 and we, along with several other guests, were told rooms were not ready. Most of us were there for a 4:00 football kick off for the play offs. The front desk staff was very pleasant and never ruffled while they explained that they had a strict policy and the manager (not present) would not allow check in before 3:00. We changed our clothes in the available lobby bathroom. All the time, rooms were available, but 20 or more of us were held hostage in the lobby waiting for rooms. At exactly 3:00, the single front desk person announced that she could start checking people in now. Where did the other front desk staff go? Were there suddenly rooms to accommodate 20+ people available? ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS and a childish display of power!!! After checking in, while the room was nice, the bathtub was disgusting. (See photo). The valet was helpful and efficient. The entrance between the AC and Residence Inn is confusing and check-in is on the 5th floor. We actually stayed at The Residence Inn, not AC.
We had a wonderful stay at the AC Hotel! The rooms were incredibly comfy, and every staff member we came in contact with was welcoming, friendly, and professional. Taylor was especially helpful and attentive, always making sure our needs were taken care of. Nicole in valet is truly an amazing person—seeing her friendly face every time we needed assistance was such a joy. Aiden in valet was also super helpful and made everything seamless. The level of service really stood out, and it made our stay that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend the AC Hotel and would absolutely stay here again!
Stayed at the AC Charlotte City Center from November 21 to 23 in room 1022. A loud, intermittent clicking noise kept me awake most of Saturday night. I contacted the front desk thinking it was a faulty deadbolt, but security, not maintenance, was sent, and the response was dismissive despite audio recordings clearly capturing the noise. I tried to resolve this privately and directly with hotel management after checkout, but my concerns were met with dismissive, unprofessional, and unresponsive communication. The hotel later sent an email acknowledging the issue and that a technician fixed it after I checked out, but there was no apology. While the location is great, customer service and follow-through fell well short of expectations. Do not stay here.
Jasmine at the front desk was the best part of our stay. She was courteous, respectful, helpful, and so kind. We’ve stayed at 5 Marriotts in the last 2 weeks for our road trip to Florida. We even stayed at the renaissance in St Augustine. Jasmine superseded all the front desk staff we worked with. A+ to her for her service!! Rooms were clean, definitely could’ve been stocked better. We did not have any hand soap and barely any towels. On our day of checkout, we had two different housekeepers knock on our door asking if we were checking out, once at 9am and once at 10am. With us having a baby, that wasn’t super appreciated, especially since we had until 11am. Overall we would stay again (and hope to see Jasmine).
