While guests praise the convenient downtown location and friendly, helpful staff, this hotel is currently undergoing renovations that have left rooms in poor condition. Frequent complaints regarding plumbing issues, grooming residue, and construction noise make it difficult to recommend as a value-based stay.

I expected the regular, sort of generic, but nice Marriott experience. The rate was high, but it was Valentine's Day in downtown Charlotte, so whatever. However, I did not expect a notice saying that the water would be shut off from midnight-6am. My friend and I spent the whole evening stressed about getting back to the hotel in time to brush our teeth! And then, an alarm went off at 6am in our room. I don't know who set that, but I hate that person. You know middle-aged ladies can't go back to sleep after an alarm goes off! And, because apparently hotels don't offer any actual TV channels anymore, I called down to ask if we could log into my HBO account and the woman at the front desk said yes and when I asked her how and told her that the app wasn't an option that I saw, she just said "Oh, well I guess you can't then." It just felt kind of . . . janky? I was disappointed in our experience. I will say, though, the location was perfect for our evening plans and the front desk check in woman was an absolute delight in her heart sweater for Valentine's Day!

We were originally supposed to stay Sunday night, but due to an ice storm we were stranded and unable to make it. When my husband called to ask about moving the reservation to the following night, he was met with pushback and told we would be charged regardless. It wasn’t until a manager got involved that the booking was moved, which we appreciated — but the initial interaction was unnecessarily stressful given the circumstances. Unfortunately, the room itself was also disappointing. It was not clean: the sheets had an unpleasant smell, there were long hairs on the towels, and the entire room had an overall odor that made it uncomfortable to stay in. The shower wouldn’t drain properly, and the water temperature constantly fluctuated between too hot and too cold. Adding to the frustration, there is no coffee or complimentary breakfast onsite, which felt surprising for the price point. Overall, this hotel did not meet expectations, and for the cost, I would honestly recommend staying at one of the many competitors in the area instead.

One of the better Courtyards out there. Great value for price. Great location. Accessible to all important businesses. Close to the convention center. All within walkable distances. It has a covered parking garage attached to it (paid).

We were in town for the panthers game and I would recommend this place to anyone. The front desk staff was wonderful and super helpful. I had the pleasure of dealing with Stephanie and she was super helpful and informative as well as being able to let us leave our car at the hotel parking till the game was over. The rooms were clean and spacious and pretty comfortable. 10/10 customer service and great rooms would definitely persuade me to stay here again!

Me and my boyfriend are on vacation and have had a major issue with the customer service at Aloft. We booked the rest of our nights here at Courtyard and have had nothing but an amazing experience already. The woman that helped us, Fran, was very nice and helpful with our check in process and provided us with a top floor room. The experience here is easy and stress free, I am very happy with our stay at Courtyard.

I had small issues with my room and I reach out to management. Tanigue responded resolved the issues and made my stay worth while. It feels good to be treated like family and not a guest. My family will be returning for the comfort and amazing views. Yoj should as well.

It was my first time staying at this location for an event. PROS: location, is in walking distance to a lot of places. The staff at the bar were amazing and very helpful. The food and drinks were good. The guy who came to fix my tv was amazing and helpful also. CONS: Upon walking in my room my feet got semi stuck to the floor. The floor at the entrance of the room was filthy and sticky (pics below). I don’t understand how it could be overlooked by housekeeping, made me feel the room was not cleaned, needless to say I never removed my shoes. There was no complimentary bottles of water. My tv didn’t work, they sent a young man to fix it and he did wonderfully, however when I went to change the channel it went back to not working so I just turned it off. I was only staying one night so I didn’t bother complaining, but I hope going forward they have someone verify cleanings are done more thoroughly before giving it to a guest to sleep in.

loved my stay here. stayed on a work trip. no absurd noises from outside, small but comfortable room. big smart tvs. plenty of outlets and usb ports. very clean rooms. when there was an issue the general manager made it right right away and apologized for it. most of the staff was very friendly. they have a seasonal pool and a gym that’s always open and a bar and little restaurant in the lobby.

Pulling up to check in was a bit of a hassle — not because of the staff, but because other guests tended to clog the front-loop instead of using the designated check-in parking spots. I’m fairly certain that if I had just parked in the garage first and then grabbed the parking pass at the desk, I wouldn’t have had to worry about parking fees, but I didn’t circle back to verify that. Location-wise, the hotel is in a great spot. We were in town for a Panthers game and being able to walk to nearby restaurants, bars, and sights was extremely convenient. The rate was fine for being downtown, and I went in expecting the usual parking costs. The hotel lobby bar was a pleasant surprise — every time we passed through, there was a lively but friendly crowd, which gave the place a nice energy. Hot tip for EV drivers: there are free charging stations on the first parking level near the elevators. They’re not fast chargers, but the convenience and proximity to the entrance definitely helped offset the price of parking. The room itself was standard Courtyard style. It appeared to have been recently renovated, though the execution was a little rough. The closet door handle fell off, the wall lamp wasn’t fully secured, and there was a noticeable lack of outlets and lighting near the TV. The room faced a mostly empty office building and was on the corner of the property. After the game, the noise from crowds in the street echoed up between buildings, so it sounded much closer than it actually was. It eventually died down, so not a major issue, just something to be aware of if you're there during an event. Would I stay again? Absolutely. It was pricier than I normally prefer, but the convenience, amenities, and overall experience made it worth it.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel March 29, 2025 and unfortunately had an unpleasant experience regarding their housekeeping staff. After checking out, I realized I had left a dress hanging in the closet in the room. I immediately contacted the hotel and spoke first to the front desk staff who answered. To my knowledge, I was not given the option to speak to management, simply directed to housekeeping where I had to leave a message. I left a detailed message as instructed with a description of the dress, hoping they could help locate it. I had to wait almost 24 hours for a return call only to have the housekeeping staff claim they could not locate my dress and could not reach the staff member that had cleaned our particular room. It is disappointing that such a reputable and relatively nice hotel would not take more steps to resolve the situation or offer any further assistance beyond a vague "We cannot locate your dress, but we have your number if it is found" I am extremely disappointed in how this situation was handled and will think twice before staying here again.
