Loved the location on a lake with walking paths and very close to the highway. If you are a Hilton Diamond or Gold member be sure to go to the Executive Lounge on the 11th floor! Huge atrium windows with a view of the lake, free breakfast and snacks. Atmosphere is relaxing and luxurious. Ricardo will take good care of you! Can’t wait for my next trip to Charlotte!

So far, I have stayed here twice while attending chess tournaments organized by the Charlotte Chess Center. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the hotel’s late checkout policy. I have never once been granted an extension — not even for an hour — even when I was willing to pay the late checkout fee. It is always explained that the hotel is fully booked, but they are happy to extend my stay if I pay for another day. Makes me wonder how they can extend my stay if the hotel is fully booked. No possibility of late checkout makes it very inconvenient for guests attending multi-day events. Since this is the designated hotel for the tournaments, I feel somewhat compelled to stay here, but the lack of flexibility with checkout makes the experience frustrating.

So far the customer service experience is lacking. I asked if there would be any early check-in before 4pm, it was a solid no. I asked if you would mind giving me a call if something changes, he said there would be no early checkin available. The hotel is nice. Have not been in my room yet. Will updated after my stay.

Service was great and the room was very clean. Breakfast was delicious, and Iris, our server, was extremely attentive. The location is awesome, with plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. We will definitely be returning.

Good value for location but the place is in insane need of cleanliness and repair. Escalator squaled for our entire stay. Old and thick spider webs graced every window near the bar... as if an intended part of decor. The room at an alleged and uncomfortable 68-degree setting felt more like 75 and could not be controlled. If you prefer to sleep soaked in sweat, this would be fine for you. Someone else's hair graced the ceiling of the shower during our stay. The beds were terrible, uncomfortable and painful to sleep in. Horrendous sleeping situation.

Room.....IDEAL (RM 50SSSHHHHH!) PERFECT VIEWS!!!! Food.....The Best of All Hotels!!! Salmon Caesar Salad very flavorful. Their dressing was Quite tasty!!! Pannycakes....Yummy! Yummy! The FLUFFY Scrambled Eggs.......I had to inform the grill cook that it was THE BEST I ever had!!! Hash browns cooked PERFECTLY!! Absolutely NO BURNT pieces!!! Pure Golden Deliciousness!!!!! The bartender, David, made me a Shirley Temple. ? It was very refreshing. I loved the garnishment! ? Thanks, David! ? The front desk attendant sang Happy Birthday to me!!! Thanks, Alaina!!! ? Brayan was an excellent server within the dining room for my to go order on my checkout date. He normally works receiving however they were short staffed so he filled in. Such a nice young man. ? Thanks, Mr. B!!! ? When I come to Charlotte my first option....THIS HILTON!!!! WoW!!! What an experience!!! My solo Bday ? celebration was THE Best!!!! Hilton added to the outcome! Thanks Hilton at University!!!! ? Oh....the location couldn't be any better. So many shops, restaurants etc...... Did I mention the walk around the lake? Yes! Yes! Yes! A must!!! Best Hilton Experience by Far!!!! ?? ???

I had a great stay at Hilton Charlotte University Place. The hotel is beautiful and very clean, and the rooms were comfortable. The view from our building was especially nice and very relaxing. Check-in was smooth and quick, and the front desk cashier was friendly and helpful. There was plenty of parking available, and the location felt safe and convenient. Overall, a very pleasant stay. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others visiting the area.

I enjoyed my stay. The double was comfortable and clean. Everything worked and the housekeeping staff obviously pays attention to details. I'm not difficult to please but, I was happy that the Crab tree and Evelyn toiletries were full. The fitness room was clean, well stocked with towels and water. All of the machines were in good working order too Thanks!

The location is great. The service was spotty. The room was nice but had serious maintenance issues. The door to the room did not lock without forceful action. Housekeeping left the door open when they tidied the room. It is not good practice to have doors that have to be slammed shut to lock; nor to leave these slightly ajar after cleaning. We had the corner room next to the stairs, which is of course a nice quiet room. However, this particular room placement is sometimes associated with crime due to easy stair access. It seems a good hotel would make sure the door was functioning properly. The room was generally in need of maintenance as the sink drained very slowly. The staffing of personnel at the front desk is spotty. Check-in was well managed, two other interactions with the day staff went quite well. In the evening, someone may or may not be there. In the evening I needed a toothbrush, a very standard thing to forget to pack. A person did wander back to the front desk after I waited and walked through the lobby, the lower floor, and then waited a bit more. She came back after my casual search for personnel and some additional wait. If there are going to periods with no staff, perhaps add a notification bell or a sign about when the staff will return. There was no notice, no way to call, no indicators of when she would be back. When she did return, she cheerfully told me to go to Walgreen’s. Have a nice day! For a hotel of this level, that is clown car management. Next time I will go to the University Marriott.

We had an unfortunate situation in which we left some items behind – a careless mistake (on our part) made in a hurried departure. These items are one-of-a-kind and we certainly needed them back. I immediately began making urgent phone calls to the hotel. I had the great fortune to visit with Payton S. Payton was immediately receptive, professional, and sympathetic to our situation. She acted quickly in contacting her colleagues in lost-and-found in an urgent effort to promptly locate the items. Payton S called me within only a couple of hours to confirm that she was in possession of the items and that she would immediately initiate the steps required to get the items shipped to me (which was a super simple process on my end -- they make it very easy). I am thankful to all the cooperative personnel at the hotel for maintaining such a high level of integrity and honesty in holding and securing the items. I am extremely grateful to Payton S in particular for her kind sincerity and professionalism and follow through. Thank you so much, Payton S!!!
