The Hyatt Place Charlotte/Arrowood consistently receives mixed reviews, with significant concerns regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and unsettling security concerns. While some guests appreciate the convenient location and friendly staff, recurring issues with room conditions, elevator outages, and potential safety concerns are prevalent.
The person who checked us in was very rude and made us feel as though we were inconveniencing her by being there (4 rooms for 2 nights). We checked in on a Monday night, the lady working the desk the following night was much more friendly. My room was awful, it had a very strong bleach odor despite the room's questionable cleanliness- the floors were sticky throughout the room, red liquid residue was on the light switch, residue/drips down the wall, the filter in the wall fin unit was so dirty that I removed it so the unit would function better to help hopefully dissipate the bleach smell, the bathroom door frame was dirty and even the ironing board cover was dirty/stained. The peep hole in my room door was falling out of the door, there were unfinished wall repairs/painting, the phone in the room had no cords going to it at all, the mattress pad was bunched up under the sheets which is how I discovered that it was a twin mattress pad on a king size bed. One of the elevators wasn't working which I've seen multiple reviews stating the same thing so how long it's been out, who knows. Very disappointing for a Hyatt hotel. Even right as you walk in, the lobby couches right in front of you are covered with stains.
The room was very spacious. The was soom need of repairs, elevator, lobby, etc. but the room was very nice. Especially important if you were staying more than one night
It's a shame how Hyatt Places have gone downhill over the years. This particular hotel is in a great spot for anyone driving along I-77. Super convenient as we needed a place to stay from our OH to FL drive. However, that's about the only positive to it. There was a security guard in the lobby all evening, and he'd escort people to their rooms because it seems a bit unsafe. A lot of shady characters here! Kudos to Hyatt for at least having a security guard, but the fact that they needed one tells you something about the area/property. I just miss the Hyatt Places of old that felt clean, new, and had above average breakfasts. That's certainly not the case here. Hotel smells like marijuana throughout! One more positive--The ladies at the front desk were kind and helpful upon check-in. And thank you for the globalist bag with waters and snacks.
There were multiple teenage football teams here so it was very hectic. The kids were so loud and some of them walked down to lobby in their socks. My room was fine but the ac could use a clean. There was mold and dust on it. The shower floor was not leveled so the water would stay.
Overall would not stay here again. Although the stuff was very friendly, the rest of the hotel was not great. Upon check in I was charged an additional $100 for my service dog, which was not disclosed when I had called ahead about it. The room itself was clean but the couch and mattress had stains on them. There were a few bugs in the bathroom and near the mini fridge. The key card wouldn’t work half of the time for the outside doors. The location is great if you have a car, it’s about 10 minutes away from the main city!
Absolutely filthy hotel. I’ve never canceled a reservation upon showing up until I visited this hotel. The location is close to many corporate locations and seemed like the right fit for my business trip. I could not be more wrong. The area is unpleasant, the lobby is run down, the elevator isn’t working, and I ended up walking down the four flights to leave the place. I’ve never been so off put by the smells on a piece of furniture. Smelt like it’s been in the background of a bar collecting smoke. Staff laughably said they did not feel the same. Will not be recommending to my colleagues. Rooms look clean at first until you take any closer inspection. I did not unpack a thing as a result. They decided to charge me twice for their cancellation fee for one person. That should show what type of people manage this location.
The two times I have stayed here with in a week the rooms were good no complaints other than the first time there are no sofa bedand only one super slow elevator are working. the breakfast are fine. Thanks to Eddie in the breakfast dining and Jasmine in the Lobby reception area desk .They both deserved 5 stars for the work they have done . Thanks
I’m so hurt because I really wanted to like this hotel. It’s beautiful but has SO MUCH work to be done. Starting off the elevator is broken and there is only one in use a slight inconvenience. When we arrived to our room it looked nice but when we looked under the sheets completely filthy!!!! We were able to move to a different room but had to lug all of our things INCLUDING newborn twins and two toddlers. The next day, they were completely out of towels and washcloths it was only noon. Having to reuse towels, lo and behold our shower is clogged!! Maintenance and housekeeping were unavailable for some time. Listen. Y’all HAVE to do better. This was a horrible experience for a short weekend trip to Charlotte. Thank you Jasmine and Andrea for helping.
Note: The rooms have been recently remodeled, but the lobby is in-progress (9/29). Also, only one of the elevators were in operation and that one was very slow. I was greeted by a friendly and courteous staff. Check-in was quick. The room was very spacious (a tad larger than your typical hotel room) and comfortable. The bed was comfortable, but a little worn on the edges as is somewhat common. There is a large 65+” TV that can be directed to one side or the other. The sink area is open with private toilet and shower. There was plenty of hot water and good pressure in the shower. There is a modest lobby area with a few tables and a small bar area. The hotel serves the typical breakfast for this type of hotel. The bar serves espresso and soon alcoholic drinks for purchase. There is a small workout area with 2 treadmills, an elliptical plus a series of dumbbells and bench. There is a small outdoor pool but no spa.
The few times I have stayed here the rooms were good no complaints other than no microwave in the rooms. . now the big issue is the parking lot. . This location is pretty familiar with car break ins. . Yes they have very fine print signs posted. . Please do not leave anything of value in your car it does not matter how close you are to the entrance THEY WILL STILL BREAK IN YOUR CAR!!!
