The SpringHill Suites by Marriott Charlotte Ballantyne receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its location, breakfast, and friendly staff. However, recurring issues with room cleanliness, noise, and security concerns, particularly regarding privacy and hotel policies, are significant drawbacks. Recent reviews highlight issues with housekeeping, broken amenities, and unwanted police interaction.
Rooms and lobby were very clean for my week stay. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. However, the difference maker in my stay was Consuela, she was more than willing to help me schedule transportation and made my travel for work a lot less stressful.
Lot of noise in the room. Even a simple sound from outside can be heard while sleeping. No sound proof. Please be aware, otherwise the rest is good. Appreciate your response.
Call for extra towels told Ineed to go get them from front desk. Callto say oilet clogged they say sorry nobody here to help. I said can I come get plunger told sorry lent 1 out and not returned. Handle on shower room room hanging by 1 screw. I will lever stay here again. And seriously questioning if ever staying a a Marriott owned hotel at check out I mentioned these things and was told sorry u feel this way. Need serious customer service training. Only reason 1 star is no option for negative
The bartender, Tawana, was the absolute best! The hotel is already great, but she made it x10 better. If you’re looking for a great hotel with an even better bartender, this is the one!
The toilet is broken, they patch it with silicone, there’s no lock in the sliding door, so you cannot lock the door while using the toilet. Same with the shower, they are both in separate areas next to each other. They don’t send housekeeping every night, I called and they said they sent them every other night. Super small rooms, I will not recommend. The mini fridge it’s so small that it leaves a gap of 8” in the wooden cabinet.
Rooms are outdated and need renovation. Service is okay , nothing special about it and now they don’t even give single water bottle until you ask. Breakfast is pretty much same everyday if you are staying for long. But again, it’s cheap compared to others.
Located in the Ballantyne district and surrounded by restaurants, salons, and other retail businesses within walking distance. Provides early morning breakfast with several options until 10am. Suite style rooms that are clean and cozy. Coffee maker, refrigerator, wifi, and cable TV included
We spent just one night at SpringHill Suites in Ballantyne and had a smooth, comfortable experience. The room was clean, spacious, and well-suited for a short stay. Staff were friendly, and check-in was a breeze. Plus, the area is packed with great options for shopping and dining—perfect for a quick visit or a longer stay.
Check-in/out was a breeze! Service & staff was nice. The rooms were clean & beds were soft. Pretty quiet hotel. Breakfast from 7-10. Sausage, eggs, oatmeal, waffles, juice, etc. Free coffee & tea 24/7. The gym was spacious & the pool being indoors was a plus due to the weather. They had a complimentary e-charging station which was a good touch. I would stay again.
We stayed here for a family trip. We stayed in a one bedroom king suite. An important thing to note about these rooms as it is not obvious from description or photos is that the bedroom isn't private. The description says there is a king bedroom and two pull out couches. There are two rooms but they don't explain that the second pull out couch is in the king bedroom. This was a family trip where we thought the kids would get their own space and we'd get ours but that was not the case because one of the couches is in the bedroom. Not a huge issue but guests should be able to see the layout of the room. There are two TVs that was information I also could not find online. Continuing with the room overall it was good. Plenty of space for our family of 5. My complaints are about cleanliness and design. The room never felt unsanitary but it could use a bit more care in the cleaning. There was gunk around the bottles in the shower as well as the soap holder. There was a Bobby pin in the floor of the bathroom when we arrived as well. The room did not get refreshed during the day either. We had to request it that's fine but make sure guests are aware this isn't a daily service or that it's by request only. As far as the design of the room the bathroom door was a sliding door that would not stay closed. We had to have someone outside the bathroom prop luggage against the door for each use. Very inconvenient. Also we're all in favor of reusing our towels. But there was no where to hang them! The room can accommodate 6 people how can 6 people hang towels on the bar you'd use for the hand towel? It's an easy fix just add a few hooks to the bathroom there was wall space to accommodate them. Lastly for the room though it had two pull out couches there was not adequate bedding for them provided. There were no fitted sheets at all and only two extra pillows. Again this room is supposed to accommodate 6 adults. We asked for what was needed and got it but it would save everyone time to simply provide what is needed to make the room live up to its occupancy rating. Moving on from the room I want to say every staff member we encountered was lovely. They were friendly, caring and helpful. My last issue was the pool. My kids were very excited to use the pool in the evenings but after trying it once I had to say no more. It was so gross. You could not see your feet at all in the shallow end even because the water was so hazy and dirty. It was pretty clear the filters were not running no output from the jets and no signs of intake either. Major yuck and health hazard. I notified the front desk of the state of the pool and was told that maintenance had been working on it earlier that day but nothing could be done at this time to correct the issue. Closing on a positive note breakfast each morning was pleasant. The area was kept very clean and restocked. Overall it was a good stay but I'm not sure I'd choose it again.
