This SpringHill Suites offers a convenient location with excellent amenities but suffers from significant maintenance and hygiene issues, including unclean rooms and privacy concerns. Guests praise the friendly staff and proximity to Ballantyne dining, but report inconsistent housekeeping and outdated property conditions.
Rooms and lobby were very clean for my week stay. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. However, the difference maker in my stay was Consuela, she was more than willing to help me schedule transportation and made my travel for work a lot less stressful.
Lot of noise in the room. Even a simple sound from outside can be heard while sleeping. No sound proof. Please be aware, otherwise the rest is good. Appreciate your response.
Call for extra towels told Ineed to go get them from front desk. Callto say oilet clogged they say sorry nobody here to help. I said can I come get plunger told sorry lent 1 out and not returned. Handle on shower room room hanging by 1 screw. I will lever stay here again. And seriously questioning if ever staying a a Marriott owned hotel at check out I mentioned these things and was told sorry u feel this way. Need serious customer service training. Only reason 1 star is no option for negative
The bartender, Tawana, was the absolute best! The hotel is already great, but she made it x10 better. If you’re looking for a great hotel with an even better bartender, this is the one!
The toilet is broken, they patch it with silicone, there’s no lock in the sliding door, so you cannot lock the door while using the toilet. Same with the shower, they are both in separate areas next to each other. They don’t send housekeeping every night, I called and they said they sent them every other night. Super small rooms, I will not recommend. The mini fridge it’s so small that it leaves a gap of 8” in the wooden cabinet.
Rooms are outdated and need renovation. Service is okay , nothing special about it and now they don’t even give single water bottle until you ask. Breakfast is pretty much same everyday if you are staying for long. But again, it’s cheap compared to others.
Located in the Ballantyne district and surrounded by restaurants, salons, and other retail businesses within walking distance. Provides early morning breakfast with several options until 10am. Suite style rooms that are clean and cozy. Coffee maker, refrigerator, wifi, and cable TV included
We spent just one night at SpringHill Suites in Ballantyne and had a smooth, comfortable experience. The room was clean, spacious, and well-suited for a short stay. Staff were friendly, and check-in was a breeze. Plus, the area is packed with great options for shopping and dining—perfect for a quick visit or a longer stay.
Check-in/out was a breeze! Service & staff was nice. The rooms were clean & beds were soft. Pretty quiet hotel. Breakfast from 7-10. Sausage, eggs, oatmeal, waffles, juice, etc. Free coffee & tea 24/7. The gym was spacious & the pool being indoors was a plus due to the weather. They had a complimentary e-charging station which was a good touch. I would stay again.
Review of SpringHill Suites by Marriott on Johnston Rd, Charlotte, NC I recently had a terrible experience at SpringHill Suites by Marriott on Johnston Rd in Charlotte, NC, and I would strongly advise others to think twice before booking here. My family and I checked in on Friday, March 21st, and upon entering our room, we immediately noticed it was not properly cleaned. There was hair in the shower, a poop stain on the toilet seat, hair follicles on the pillowcases, crumbs and stains on the couch and underneath it, as well as stains on some of the towels. Given how late it was, I decided to buy my own cleaning supplies and requested fresh sheets, pillowcases, and towels. Fast forward to March 23rd, my husband and I left the hotel around 1:15–1:50 PM to visit family. When we returned at 9:15–9:20 PM, we were shocked to discover that housekeeping had entered our room without our knowledge or consent. Not only did they make the beds, but they touched and reorganized our personal belongings—including my lingerie, clothes, socks, bonnet, scarf, and makeup. They even packed up my makeup and foundation waste in my makeup bag. To make matters worse, I had two $100 bills hidden under my pillowcase, and they were missing. The housekeeper had no business touching anything other than making the bed and cleaning, yet they decided to fold my clothes, move my belongings, and throw away shopping bags that contained important receipts. I immediately reported the situation to the front desk, speaking with Andrew, who filed a report. However, I was never informed that housekeeping enters rooms every other day—something I was only made aware of when I spoke with the general manager, Emily, the following morning. Instead of showing genuine concern, Emily downplayed the entire situation and simply told me to file a police report. Unfortunately, I had a flight to catch, so I was unable to do so in person. The lack of accountability, the complete disregard for my privacy, and the theft of my money make this one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. I feel violated, disrespected, and unheard. This was my first time staying at a Marriott, and it will absolutely be my last. I expect to be compensated for this horrible experience—not just for the stolen money, but for the sheer lack of professionalism and respect for guests’ personal belongings. I hope corporate takes this matter seriously and reaches out, because this level of misconduct should not go unaddressed. If you’re considering staying here, think twice—your privacy and security are not guaranteed.
