The Residence Inn Marriott Concord receives mixed reviews, highlighting cleanliness and location as strengths, but plagued by significant concerns regarding housekeeping, pest control, and inconsistent service. Recent feedback indicates a decline in property maintenance and guest satisfaction, with recurring issues such as mold, bed bugs, and rude staff.
We stayed Memorial Day Weekend for the race. Very clean and friendly. The only problem was the trash in our room was never emptied. Also, on Monday they had a waffle maker set up and by 8:30 the lady manager took it down. She was over heard saying she was tired of people asking how to operate it so I going to take care of this. Not very good customer service on her part. If we ever make it back we will stay here again. If they recommend Above and Beyond Shuttle Service tell them no thank you the service is terrible. They need to quit recommending them.
The rooms are decent, they are clean. Not very dated and spacious. Now for the issues and believe me there are several... Housekeeping is absolutely atrocious, they will not change your sheets unless you request it. They don't do a very good job cleaning. There are still spots on my floor it looks like they just come in, refresh and then leave. The staff during the morning and the evening are fine but overnight. They have a lady that looks homeless. Walking around in slippers and a blanket wrapped around her. I genuinely thought they were being polite to a homeless person on a cold evening. Turns out she works there, and also does a ton of laundry for whatever reason. There are signs up at the desk and on the doors stating apologies restroom and has a number on it, these are up all night while the lady sits around. And breakfast sucks, the old lady in the morning is rude to no end and it is the exact same thing everyday powdered eggs and turkey sausage. The cereal with stale and the oatmeal was sticky and nasty. While the rooms are nice and the majority of the staff is polite, the fact that you have someone who looks homeless and representing your hotel during the evening and early morning hours is unacceptable. The fact that you're morning breakfast person is completely rude is also unacceptable. Fix the breakfast issues and housekeeping issues and you might actually have a decent hotel here. My company booked me for 28 nights, thankfully the job fell short so we will be checking out next week. Only 14 days of this... Cockroaches lots of them. Big ones in the hallway. Little ones in the room. Oriental beetles everywhere in the room out of the room. Pest control must not be a thing here.
When we first checked in about 4 hours ago, we checked the beds for bed bugs and found some. We immediately went down to the lobby and got a new room immediately. We got into our new room shortly after, and checked the beds again. One had one dead bug, the other was cased in. I literally just went to the bathroom and there is literal POOP on the floor. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED. I cannot make this up. Never again.
This place wants to be good, the people want to be good, but it’s just not. It’s not well kept or well supported. Lack of attention to detail inside and outside, but a friendly staff that seems to want to help, but lack follow through. Issues with the TV, smoke smelling room, shortage of luggage carts, scarcity of people at the front desk (waiting a long time for service, anyone to even be at the desk), appliances, cleanliness of the room, cleanliness of the property outside, elevator backups, major breakfast service backups, just not a great stay at all..
It was a good experience and I did get a goodnights sleep but the place was infested with Asian Lady Beetles. You might mistake them for lady bugs but they're more orange and include more spots. The breakfast was okay, the only good part was the cereal or waffles that you'd have to make yourself. Every-time I requested something it arrived in short time which was pleasant.
Waste of money. Had to stay here with our cheerleading team. Never again. Kids can’t swim. Lips turn purple. It’s freezing. Not only is the pool freezing but the room itself is freezing. We’ve been traveling for the last 2 months and this is by far a waste of money. All the kids loved to swim at the other hotels. This one might look nice but absolutely not fun for the kids. Will NEVER in my life stay here again. Front desk said it’s because the temperature out side. It was colder in New Jersey 2 weeks ago and the INDOOR POOL AND ROOM WAS AMAZING. Had just as many windows as this one. Front desk said it’s also because of the windows. WASTE OF MONEY
I was placed here due to the fact that I had a home fire for seven months however, my day was really not so great but staffing in my opinion that was good to me. Was Greg and Cyrus everyone else act like they didn’t care always seemed too busy to do what I asked when it came to maintenance. I was always put on hold. I don’t understand why when I was staying there from an inconvenience in my life. None of these things are lies. They are the truth as for the owner when things needed to be done I was Always put on hold the turnover rate at this hotel is very very high. A lot of people don’t want to work for the hotel due to the fact that some of the front desk people get fired because they go outside for long smoke breaks. I get it. Everyone needs time to their self but when it’s time to help guess that stay there for their life situation they need to be held accountable as first priority why because customers are always right and if you wanna have business, you gotta keep your customers and guess and their comfortability.
So I was placed in this hotel due to a house fire by my insurance company for eight months and I can say this hotel is a one star hotel. The breakfast is crappy. The customer service at the front desk is horrible. All of the workers always have attitudes and move with a slow paste And do not let me get started on the maintenance man. They walk around high smelling like weed and alcohol they take forever to do what they’re asked and they’re just always walking around in huddles. The only thing that was good about this hotel where the housekeepers And the front desk worker named Greg he’s been there for years other than that this hotel was completely horrible. It was mold in my bathroom. It took them three months to come clean it out this hotel also overcharge me several times through my bank account after the insurance company paid their portion of me staying there. This is a recent review today is December 5, 2025. I just left not even a week ago. I do not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. The turnover rate is terrible at the front desk The seven months I stayed there I seen over 20 people. Also, a lot of drug deals go down in the parking lot. I seen it with my own eyes.
I rarely write reviews, but this stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Concord demands attention at the corporate level. I travel often and I’ve stayed in everything from luxury resorts to small-town budget hotels. What I experienced here ranks at the absolute bottom—not because of small inconveniences, but because the property appears to have fallen into a level of neglect that presents serious health and safety concerns. My room had what appeared to be black mold forming behind the wallpaper in the bathroom. The HVAC system blew cold air nonstop, even when the heat was on. The room smelled strongly of mildew and dampness, and I left with a severe sinus infection that I did not have before checking in. The dishwasher didn’t function, the TV in the bedroom looked decades old (definitely not a smart TV), and there were signs of aging and deterioration everywhere—peeling walls, damaged fixtures, and a general lack of upkeep that’s shocking for a property carrying the Marriott name. Even common areas weren’t spared. The elevator smelled terrible. The pantry cooler wasn’t working, so all the ice cream and refrigerated items were spoiled and had to be thrown out. For the nightly rate, this felt like an $80-per-night, 2-star motel, not a Residence Inn. This is not simply a “bad stay.” This is a property that seems to have slipped far below acceptable brand standards and poses legitimate health issues. I genuinely hope Marriott’s corporate quality team sees this, because the condition of this hotel does not reflect the brand’s reputation or guest expectations. This was, without question, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, and I’ve stayed in some rough places. I’m asking Marriott to review this property’s condition, maintenance practices, and health/safety compliance. Guests deserve better, and the Marriott brand deserves better than what’s happening here.
Staying here for New Year's. Went to check it out while staying in the area recently and the Front Desk clerk was extremely cordial and helpful. We've made reservations for New Year's. The room we saw was beautiful, immaculate and had sweeping views of the area, including a partial view of Charlotte Motor Speedway.
