The Residence Inn Marriott Concord has received overwhelmingly negative feedback, primarily centered around cleanliness issues, property maintenance, and poor customer service. Recurring complaints involve mold, bed bugs, infestations, broken amenities, and unresponsive staff. While isolated positive reviews mention location and friendly staff, the prevalent concerns significantly outweigh the positive experiences.
When we first checked in about 4 hours ago, we checked the beds for bed bugs and found some. We immediately went down to the lobby and got a new room immediately. We got into our new room shortly after, and checked the beds again. One had one dead bug, the other was cased in. I literally just went to the bathroom and there is literal POOP on the floor. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED. I cannot make this up. Never again.
It was a good experience and I did get a goodnights sleep but the place was infested with Asian Lady Beetles. You might mistake them for lady bugs but they're more orange and include more spots. The breakfast was okay, the only good part was the cereal or waffles that you'd have to make yourself. Every-time I requested something it arrived in short time which was pleasant.
Waste of money. Had to stay here with our cheerleading team. Never again. Kids can’t swim. Lips turn purple. It’s freezing. Not only is the pool freezing but the room itself is freezing. We’ve been traveling for the last 2 months and this is by far a waste of money. All the kids loved to swim at the other hotels. This one might look nice but absolutely not fun for the kids. Will NEVER in my life stay here again. Front desk said it’s because the temperature out side. It was colder in New Jersey 2 weeks ago and the INDOOR POOL AND ROOM WAS AMAZING. Had just as many windows as this one. Front desk said it’s also because of the windows. WASTE OF MONEY
I was placed here due to the fact that I had a home fire for seven months however, my day was really not so great but staffing in my opinion that was good to me. Was Greg and Cyrus everyone else act like they didn’t care always seemed too busy to do what I asked when it came to maintenance. I was always put on hold. I don’t understand why when I was staying there from an inconvenience in my life. None of these things are lies. They are the truth as for the owner when things needed to be done I was Always put on hold the turnover rate at this hotel is very very high. A lot of people don’t want to work for the hotel due to the fact that some of the front desk people get fired because they go outside for long smoke breaks. I get it. Everyone needs time to their self but when it’s time to help guess that stay there for their life situation they need to be held accountable as first priority why because customers are always right and if you wanna have business, you gotta keep your customers and guess and their comfortability.
So I was placed in this hotel due to a house fire by my insurance company for eight months and I can say this hotel is a one star hotel. The breakfast is crappy. The customer service at the front desk is horrible. All of the workers always have attitudes and move with a slow paste And do not let me get started on the maintenance man. They walk around high smelling like weed and alcohol they take forever to do what they’re asked and they’re just always walking around in huddles. The only thing that was good about this hotel where the housekeepers And the front desk worker named Greg he’s been there for years other than that this hotel was completely horrible. It was mold in my bathroom. It took them three months to come clean it out this hotel also overcharge me several times through my bank account after the insurance company paid their portion of me staying there. This is a recent review today is December 5, 2025. I just left not even a week ago. I do not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. The turnover rate is terrible at the front desk The seven months I stayed there I seen over 20 people. Also, a lot of drug deals go down in the parking lot. I seen it with my own eyes.
I rarely write reviews, but this stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Concord demands attention at the corporate level. I travel often and I’ve stayed in everything from luxury resorts to small-town budget hotels. What I experienced here ranks at the absolute bottom—not because of small inconveniences, but because the property appears to have fallen into a level of neglect that presents serious health and safety concerns. My room had what appeared to be black mold forming behind the wallpaper in the bathroom. The HVAC system blew cold air nonstop, even when the heat was on. The room smelled strongly of mildew and dampness, and I left with a severe sinus infection that I did not have before checking in. The dishwasher didn’t function, the TV in the bedroom looked decades old (definitely not a smart TV), and there were signs of aging and deterioration everywhere—peeling walls, damaged fixtures, and a general lack of upkeep that’s shocking for a property carrying the Marriott name. Even common areas weren’t spared. The elevator smelled terrible. The pantry cooler wasn’t working, so all the ice cream and refrigerated items were spoiled and had to be thrown out. For the nightly rate, this felt like an $80-per-night, 2-star motel, not a Residence Inn. This is not simply a “bad stay.” This is a property that seems to have slipped far below acceptable brand standards and poses legitimate health issues. I genuinely hope Marriott’s corporate quality team sees this, because the condition of this hotel does not reflect the brand’s reputation or guest expectations. This was, without question, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, and I’ve stayed in some rough places. I’m asking Marriott to review this property’s condition, maintenance practices, and health/safety compliance. Guests deserve better, and the Marriott brand deserves better than what’s happening here.
Staying here for New Year's. Went to check it out while staying in the area recently and the Front Desk clerk was extremely cordial and helpful. We've made reservations for New Year's. The room we saw was beautiful, immaculate and had sweeping views of the area, including a partial view of Charlotte Motor Speedway.
I recently stayed at the Residence Inn in Concord, and overall, it was a good experience with a few things worth noting. The room itself was comfortable, though it did show a bit of wear and tear. Nothing major, but small signs that the space could use a refresh. The bed was also firmer than we prefer, which made sleeping a little less comfortable than expected. Breakfast was included, and while it was fairly generic, it was still convenient and appreciated — a decent start to the morning with enough options to tide you over. Despite the minor issues, the overall Marriott quality was still present: clean common areas, friendly staff, and a reliable, welcoming atmosphere. I’d give the stay about a 4 out of 5. Not perfect, but solid, and we would consider staying again.
Rooms were small. Stove does not work. Fridge broken and does not cool. And my car was broken into as well as a few other cars. The hotel didn't care to reimburse. I am over a thousand dollars in loss due to theft. The employees and managers are nice tho. But it's not safe at this hotel I don't recommend unless you want your car stolen
Avoid This Hotel – Worst Experience Ever! I had the worst experience at the Residence Inn Concord, NC, and I strongly warn others to stay away. I checked in at 4:15 PM on March 22, 2025, only to be given two different dirty rooms. The first had a filthy bathroom with urine and hair on the toilet, and the second reeked of mildew, had dirty floors, and damaged carpet. When I reported the issues, the front desk agent, Cyris, refused to refund me, despite having no clean, livable rooms available. Things got even worse when, after calling Marriott’s corporate customer service to report the disgusting conditions, I was suddenly met by police and falsely accused of vandalism—all because I refused to stay in their filthy rooms! I was escorted out like a criminal with my children, humiliated, and then banned from the hotel, with no refund for the nightmare they put us through. This place is absolutely filthy, with rumors of bedbugs, uncleaned rooms, broken fixtures, and disgusting carpets. The customer service is horrible, and they clearly have no problem calling the police on paying guests instead of providing basic hospitality. Save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else! I usually stay at Embassy Suites next door, and I regret ever making the mistake of choosing this place. Marriott needs to remove its name from this property!
