Guest experiences at this airport hotel are extremely polarized. While recent stays praise the accommodating, friendly staff and clean rooms, a significant number of reviews describe the facilities as dirty, gross, and heavily outdated. Long wait times for hotel repairs and poor inter-departmental communication are recurring themes in complaints.
Checked in on Friday night into our traditional king room. Once we got into the room we noticed that the sink had stuff in it what look to be like pieces of dried throw up chunks so I just ran the water and rinsed the sink. In the middle of the night we woke up to sounds as if someone was taking a shower in our room. Then the noise would stop and then either sound like water patter or sometimes a pour of water. Finally I got up to check to see exactly what the noise was or if it was our room and water was everywhere. The sink had the throw up looking stuff in it and completely clogged up and water was overflowing all over the bathroom counter and the floors and water was shooting out of the holes in the cabinets in the bathroom. We called the front desk and told them and they asked if we were able to cut the water off but we were not running anywhere. Water was coming up out of the sink in our room. They sent someone up to give us a new room key. We got moved to an ADA room. We were completely exhausted from having to pack up our now wet items to move to a room at 4am. We called the front desk again and told them this is not the type of room we want. They told us that was the only thing available so call the front again at 9am to be moved. The front desk attendant told us she would leave a note so the next person would know we need a new room and what was happening. I told her that someone needs to be fixing that overflowing because when we left out of the room it was now seeping out of the room into the hallway. We called the front at 9am and a man answered and had no clue about that happened a few hours ago and said no new rooms were available until later that day and offered a breakfast coupon. I told him we will not accept that and I need to speak to a manager to discuss a full refund. He said the manager wouldn’t be in until 2 pm and there was nothing else he could do at that time. We came back from our outing around 4 and went to the front desk and the manager didn’t know anything about the situation either so we had to explain it again!! They gave us a deluxe room and changed our rate to $69 a night. I am frustrated by the lack of communication between staff about what happened and the lack of care about our stuff and us having to move rooms at 4am! Each room appeared to be dated and it appears nothing like it does online at the booking sites. We are returning home today with several ruined items and items we threw away because we don’t know what that was coming out of the sink rather it was regular water or backed up sewer.
I stayed last minute on 2/19 and had the pleasure of being checked in by Robin at front desk. Not only was she incredibly kind, but also very professional. I hadn't packed a toothbrush and she kindly gave me one of the complimentary ones, asked if I needed help with any luggage, and gave me a very thorough verbal tour of the hotel during my stay. Pretty spot too, but the great people who work there make it even better!
Outdated and not kept up. Stains on the ceiling. Stains on the lobby furniture. Charged $55 to check in less than an hour early after we had a mid lunch at their restaurant. Not to mention that we have Platinum Elite status with Marriott. I hope they spend that $55 on some maintenance and cleaning supplies. Check in was pretty standard for low level hotel. Employees talking to each other rather than greeting us, make us feel like we are inconveniencing them, and then hit us with their own policy on checking in slightly early. Check out was just as fun. There’s a shuttle but there’s zero organization. People pushing past and on like a New York subway. Overall visit was poor from minute one to leaving. Only positive was the location being near the airport - which is probably why they put zero effort into the rest of the experience.
Deeply offensive to all five senses and strait out of the 1990s. I wasn’t expecting the ritz but wow this was awful for the money. Touch- the bed was ancient. It was slightly more comfortable than the floor. My entire body hurts. We asked for more pillows. They came sopping wet. The lady had to have known they were soaked. Smell- a mixture of must and bleach. Sound- you can literally hear if the person a room over sneezes. Huge amount of noise coming from the courtyard until around 11:30pm as well. Sights- the shower was dripping and created a mold spot. Questionable stains on the chairs. Taste- the hotel restaurant was instant heart burn and drenched in salt.
Sheraton Charlotte Airport Hotel was disappointing. The room felt dated and not very clean — I noticed stains on the carpet and the bathroom didn’t feel well-maintained. Some amenities, like the fitness center and restaurant, seemed poorly kept or overcrowded.
Could not be more thankful for this hotel and Jason who was working the desk on the night of December 7, 2025. We got canceled from our flights around midnight at CLT and they made every excuse to not help us at the airport. We call 4 hotels before contacting the Sheraton. Jason was able to get us two rooms at a reasonable rate since we were a family of five and could not fit into one room. He was very accommodating and showed amazing compassion for a family who completely exhausted and stressed out. Thank you again, Jason!
This hotel is a five star. Came down in November 15th and the weather was in the 70s. Location was great. The staff was very pleasant and very nice. The rooms were very clean. And the indoor pool is heated. I will be coming back to this hotel.
This hotel is adequate but VERY dated. My first room was probably original construction. I asked for a "renovated" room, and it was updated - but probably in 2005. I only stayed here because of a missed connection, and I would not pick this hotel by choice. While the restaurant is good, I suggest another full service hotel if you have the option (e.g. Hilton).
The front desk and staff as a whole were friendly and pleasant to talk to. The rooms seem a bit dated compared to the rest of the facilities. My heat wasn't working in my room, maintenance was on it in a jiffy and had the problem resolved in minutes.?????????? for maintenance. I did use the gym, had some nice modern equipment. I did find it odd they want to charge you $3 for a bottle of water yet offer complimentary coffee and hot water.
Jason and his counterpart were so patient and kind upon arrival even during a busy time as a lot of people were forced to stay overnight during their travels. The hotel lobby is very nice and welcoming. There is a very modern charm with there being a fireplace to the right as you walk in. It smelled amazing. However, once I got to my room, it smelled of cigarettes even though there was a no smoking sign. If I was not so enchanted I would have asked for a new room. The bed was comfy and the room was clean otherwise.
