The Sheraton Charlotte Airport Hotel offers convenient access to the airport and a comfortable stay for travelers. While praised for its shuttle service and friendly staff, the property shows signs of age with dated rooms, inconsistent cleanliness, and occasional maintenance issues. Guests have noted issues ranging from outdated decor and malfunctioning amenities to unexpected interruptions and a lack of attention to detail.
Nice clean comfortable rooms. The bed and pillows were nice. Beautiful lobby and bar. Complimentary Starbucks was nice. Great shuttle service to and from the airport, friendly driver too. The ac worked great, did the job just a bit loud. Overall great visit would do it again!
Cleanliness was not up to my standards. Hair in shower and on bathroom floor. Toilet seat is peeling and needs to be replaced. Carpet felt sticky. Shoes had to be worn at all times. Coffee maker had visible dust on it and around tray it was sitting on. Fridge is in a cabinet that is a little too small for it. We had trouble getting the door to close. For $300 a night I expect better. Would not recommend.
Check in is 11am- but they got me into a room a few hrs early. Cleaning staff was still hard at work, to be expected. The pool is relaxing, kids, and travelers enjoying the sun and pool is refreshing to see. Overall this is a great location to get to your flight easily, and good to still get out in the town if you want.
The staff was pretty nice and the room wasn't bad with regard to the setup. I did have problems with the A/c immediately though, they sent up a maintenance guy to fix it, he unclogged it, it blew colder for a bit but still very warm in the room. He said they won't have this problem come next year when they remodel all the rooms, thanks bud but that doesn't help me in this current moment. I called the front desk and asked for a fan to help push the cool air around, surprise surprise, no fans even with them having a known A/C problem. Seems like the lounge had good food. The shuttle driver was on time so that's good.
The hotel is beautiful, well maintained, and the rooms are very nice. I was very pleased with the property itself. What I found frustrating was the checkout process. Upon checking in, I was told checkout was at 11:00 a.m., which is standard, but then I was immediately asked what time I planned to leave. I'm not sure why that information was needed when all guests are expected to check out by 11:00 a.m. anyway. I estimated between 10:00 and 10:30 a.m. but explained I wasn't certain. The next morning, housekeeping attempted to enter my room at 8:30 a.m., and I had to let them know I was still there. Then, at 9:30 a.m., while I was on a work conference call, they returned again and I had to explain that I was still utilizing the room. The repeated interruptions were very inconvenient and made it feel like there was pressure to leave well before the stated checkout time.
After American Airlines delayed our flight by four hours, causing us to miss our connections home, we were put up at the Sheraton Charlotte Airport. While the lobby makes a decent first impression, the "beautiful" facade quickly fades. Every chandelier has multiple burnt-out bulbs, and large sections of the lobby are oddly empty—just vast stretches of carpet with no furniture. Even the layout is confusing; the main stairs to the restaurant are blocked by booths, forcing guests to use a side entrance. The room was frustratingly dark. The wall switch by the door does nothing; I had to navigate a dark room to find the bathroom light and then manually turn on three separate lamps. The decor is stuck in the 80s, and the desk is remarkably tech-unfriendly. There are no outlets on the desk; you have to hunt for a wall outlet near the floor two feet away, bring some long wires. The bathroom was the biggest disappointment. The vanity was clearly caulked by someone with zero training, and a large crack in the marble was "repaired" with no regard for aesthetics. There was a thick layer of dust on the molding and even a spider living in the tub. While the toilet and shower appeared clean, the lack of attention to detail is glaring. This hotel is survivable if the airline is paying, but I wouldn't recommend it as a choice if you have other options. The free airport shuttle is the best thing it's got going for it.
We had an unexpected overnight stay at the Sheraton Charlotte Airport Hotel after a flight delay with American Airlines, and it turned out to be a very pleasant experience. The airport shuttle service was smooth and convenient, making pickup and drop-off completely hassle-free during an otherwise stressful travel situation. The staff was accommodating and ensured our stay was comfortable, even on short notice. We were especially grateful that they arranged connecting rooms for our group of four, which made a big difference for our family. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and comfortable, providing exactly what we needed to rest and reset. Overall, a great hotel experience—reliable, welcoming, and efficient when it mattered most
Visiting for a local concert for my daughters birthday. Our room was clean and the beds were comfy. The pool was cold and the hot tub is out of order which was a main reason for choosing this hotel. Online this place looks like a resort, However the pool was a major selling point for this trip and it was very cold. The staff here were amazing. We had lunch there and the food was great. We had to switch rooms due to our AC unit leaking and the maintenance man Tom was very helpful and friendly. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and supplied us with fresh towels. Overall it was a nice stay. We likely wouldn't return but only due to the area has so many other options for nicer pool areas.
Checked in on Friday night into our traditional king room. Once we got into the room we noticed that the sink had stuff in it what look to be like pieces of dried throw up chunks so I just ran the water and rinsed the sink. In the middle of the night we woke up to sounds as if someone was taking a shower in our room. Then the noise would stop and then either sound like water patter or sometimes a pour of water. Finally I got up to check to see exactly what the noise was or if it was our room and water was everywhere. The sink had the throw up looking stuff in it and completely clogged up and water was overflowing all over the bathroom counter and the floors and water was shooting out of the holes in the cabinets in the bathroom. We called the front desk and told them and they asked if we were able to cut the water off but we were not running anywhere. Water was coming up out of the sink in our room. They sent someone up to give us a new room key. We got moved to an ADA room. We were completely exhausted from having to pack up our now wet items to move to a room at 4am. We called the front desk again and told them this is not the type of room we want. They told us that was the only thing available so call the front again at 9am to be moved. The front desk attendant told us she would leave a note so the next person would know we need a new room and what was happening. I told her that someone needs to be fixing that overflowing because when we left out of the room it was now seeping out of the room into the hallway. We called the front at 9am and a man answered and had no clue about that happened a few hours ago and said no new rooms were available until later that day and offered a breakfast coupon. I told him we will not accept that and I need to speak to a manager to discuss a full refund. He said the manager wouldn’t be in until 2 pm and there was nothing else he could do at that time. We came back from our outing around 4 and went to the front desk and the manager didn’t know anything about the situation either so we had to explain it again!! They gave us a deluxe room and changed our rate to $69 a night. I am frustrated by the lack of communication between staff about what happened and the lack of care about our stuff and us having to move rooms at 4am! Each room appeared to be dated and it appears nothing like it does online at the booking sites. We are returning home today with several ruined items and items we threw away because we don’t know what that was coming out of the sink rather it was regular water or backed up sewer.
I stayed last minute on 2/19 and had the pleasure of being checked in by Robin at front desk. Not only was she incredibly kind, but also very professional. I hadn't packed a toothbrush and she kindly gave me one of the complimentary ones, asked if I needed help with any luggage, and gave me a very thorough verbal tour of the hotel during my stay. Pretty spot too, but the great people who work there make it even better!
