This Holiday Inn Express is highly praised for its exceptional shuttle and airport proximity, making it a top choice for transit guests. However, experiences vary significantly, with some recent stays citing maintenance issues, cleanliness flaws, and unprofessional front desk behavior.
This is a great hotel close to the airport in a decent area. We had to ask for towels and our phone was broken when we first checked in however those were resolved quickly. Shout out to Mercedes who provided exceptional service during breakfast! She is professional, courteous and detailed oriented.
One of the smoothest check-ins I’ve ever had at a hotel! Service was great front desk representative James really went above and beyond for me and my son. He made sure to get a crib in the room for me since I had forgotten to put that in the reservation and extra blankets! The experience was great all team members went above and beyond.
Pros: Great proximity to the CLT Airport. Front desk staff was very professional and welcoming. Nice lobby with 24/7 Coffe and Tea Cons: Parking is $10/night The rooms were not clean and very worn. Stains on the walls and on the sofa. Holes in the curtains. The carpet was stained and the beds and furniture were very worn. The bathroom also didn't appear to be very clean. This is one of the worst IHG hotels I have stayed in so far.
Excellent stay near the airport. Check-in was fast, the staff were friendly and professional, and the hotel felt clean and well maintained. The room was spacious, modern, and very comfortable—great bed, good water pressure, and the A/C worked perfectly. Breakfast was a big plus with plenty of options, and everything was stocked and fresh. It was also quiet at night, which made it easy to rest. Parking was convenient, and the location is ideal for quick access to the airport and nearby food options. Would definitely stay here again.
Carvin the airport shuttle driver for the hotel was awesome. After he drove me to the hotel, I asked him if it was a good idea to walk to the nearby Waffle house (9:40 PM on a Monday in January), and he said "No, I'll drive you." I ended up at a local Mexican place instead (on his recommendation), and it was the best I've had in years. Fantastic service, and a great person to talk to. (Oh, the hotel is nice, too. But mainly Carvin is great.)
We stayed at this hotel over the weekend as part of the final leg of our vacation. The main purpose of our stay was to get some rest and conveniently head to the airport the next morning, and in that sense, the hotel served its purpose well. The check in was very easy and shout out to Monique for the same. She was very friendly and cheerful. Was impressed by the airport themed decor of the hotel as well. Its close proximity to the airport and the availability of an airport shuttle made our early-morning travel plans stress-free and convenient. The location is definitely a plus for travelers catching flights. However, the property could benefit from some renovations, particularly in the bathroom. In our room, there were broken tiles near the bathroom entrance that made it difficult to close the door smoothly. The bathtub also showed visible signs of wear and damage. Additionally, we could clearly hear people walking on the floor above us, which affected the overall quietness we were hoping for during our rest. Overall, the hotel is functional and convenient for a short airport stay, but some updates and maintenance would go a long way in improving the guest experience.
A very clean, nice hotel. The decor is really warm and welcoming. Rooms are big and clean. The water with oranges in the lobby was delicious. Didn't have the breakfast so I can't comment on that. My only issue would be the check in. We waited behind 3 ladies as one check in it seemed for about 20 minutes. 2 ladies who worked there took forever. The chit chat, while nice, was a bit too long. I just wanted to check in and go to our room. Finally one of the ladies came to us and said she could check us in in the back. She disappeared for about 10 minutes. Our last night there the lady at the desk was not the best. We wanted water from the "store" there and couldn't find her. We could see her in the back on the phone. We waited and she finally came out. This morning when went to check out she was looking down doing something. It was only us as it was 355am in the morning. We told her we wanted to check out and laid our keys down. We stood there and she just looked at us like "what"?! She finally said " do you need anything else?" We said no. She said ok I'm doing my audit. She really could have cared less. Def need better customer service at your front desk. The hotel is really close to the airport so that's a huge plus. Oh and one more thing. It does cost to park here. I couldn't believe it! I think it was $12 a night, pay by phone so heads up.
I visited this past weekend and I would not have stayed but I had to because it was a Stay to Play for a cheer event. listed below are a few things that we experienced in 3 days: 1. Riach in first room. 2. Switched rooms and heat was broken and it was at least 85 degrees in the room. Front desk lady responded with"I don't do heating and air" . Finally called maintenance. Maintenance had me trouble shot myself. Thermostat on wall didn't work. Had to keep air on and off the whole time we were there to feel comfortable because heat did not work properly. when maintenance guy did show up to our room he smelled of pot while our 11 year old daughters were in the room. Spent nights chilly or stuffy because we had to keep readjusting the temp. it was 35 degrees outside but yet we had to use the air. 3. No towels in the pool area on multiple occasions. pool full of people and I requested towels and I got 2 20 minutes later. Mind you the pool was freezing. 4. Garbage was overflowing. 5. Had water for guest sometimes but didn't have cups or the water jug was dry. 6. shuttle was unreliable. 7. Front desk lady in Friday night had her eaebud in taking a personal phone call while checking people in. she made a comment about not knowing all these kids were coming or she wouldn't have worked. She was extremely rude and was bothered. I even witnessed a guest come downstairs because she assigned someone a room with occupants in it already. Overall, this was the worst hotel with little customer service. I would only recommend this hotel to someone I need revenge on.
We stayed here 1 night for a concert and needed to be close to airport. The hotel was extremely convenient and clean. The free breakfast was much better than most hotels. But the staff was exceptional. Keisha at the front desk was so friendly, kind and efficient (5 stars!) The van driver, Duncan, was friendly & he gets 5 stars too! Every employee we interacted with was a great example of southern hospitality. We will definitely recommend the Holiday Inn Express!!
Absolutely phenomenal stay. The hotel staff was extremely friendly, and funny too. They were so accommodating for us. Let us have a late checkout and the airport shuttle is so nice, convenient and free. Beds were comfortable and clean. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. American Airlines gave us a voucher here when they had plane issues that made us miss our layover.
