The Fairfield Inn by Marriott Northlake receives mixed reviews, with concerns surrounding cleanliness, maintenance, and a dated property condition. While some guests appreciate the convenient location and friendly staff, recurring issues with mold, mildew, damaged fixtures, and outdated furnishings are frequently cited. Recent reviews suggest the hotel is struggling to maintain its standard.
I should have read the reviews. This Fairfield Inn is not up to par with others. The hotel staff was wonderful, the fitness center was cool and clean, breakfast was ok, but our room was not good. Our curtains were actually shredded. There were drywall patches on the wall, stains on the wall & carpet & mildew all over the bathroom. Just not what we expected. We are not complainers, typically, so we just stayed one night for a concert and left, but will not return. There are construction materials staged at the back of the hotel, so hopefully an update is in the future, but as of now, the location is great, but there are way better choices nearby.
Bed was comfortable. Shower had good pressure. But… Mildew on the bathroom ceiling Holes in the curtains Incredibly sticky floor by the breakfast Surprising it’s a Marriott property
Room was clean and smelled smelly clean. Bed was clean, mattress was a little dated as was the furniture. Looks like they are doing updates on the hotel. Bathroom needs work, mildew and pealing wall paper, however i have seen worst. Front desk staff was amazing always smiling and acknowledged my presence coming and going. Location is great and parking lot was clean to. Great for a business trip stay and will be nicer once there done updating the facility. High travel area so im sure this site sees some abuse with use. 5 star if the bathroom had been more presentable.
Would not recommend solely for the sake of cleanliness. Booked online with Priceline and with the brand of Fairfield, thought this location would be okay. Looks like they were bought out. Front entrance and staff were nice but once you entered the room, you can see where they fell short. The door across my room locked appeared broken, the ceiling in the bathroom had mold and the mattress appeared old. Spend the few extra dollars down the street if you can.
For traveling purposes for my business i stayed at the Marriott property, so for that it fit the bill for me. ~ Convenient to the highways i needed [77 &485], food, & gas. ~3 star rating... ? that's pushing it 2 star would fit better. ~Rooms are dated like its the late 80s early 90s, walls are thin & you will hear everything from the cars, trucks, & motorcycles/bikes. To the room next door, cheek clapping, arguing, or kids laughing, yelling, etc. ~ Light sleepers beware, the pools in the back, so an even numer room you will noise from that. Pick your poison wisley. ~ Would have been nice to know of the painting that was going on at 7pm, i wasn't told during check in & found out when walking to the room. The unoccupied rooms were left open with the smell of paint & painting still in progress..... at 7pm?? Might have to bring 1st 48 into this. ~Bed & bathroom was clean ?? so that was good, & housekeeping even left a toilet paper flower ? ~Curtains were shredded so either the possiblilites of a cat fight, or Freddy caught someone sleeping. ~The "cuck chair" was stained, so take from that what you will. Don't be mistaken by the rating, the review pictures are the truth & the online are stock Marriott Property pictures. **May The Odds Be Ever In Your Favor**
This hotel is pretty run down. We were in room 212. The breakfast was okay, nothing super exciting. I had blood stained sheets on my bed, which was disgusting. We were just down there for the NASCAR race in early October, and the location was great in conjunction to the track, but you could tell the hotel was pretty run down. The pillows have seen better days (very thin, and only 3 to a bed). The AC worked great, but unfortunately, the room needs improvement. Mold by the window, where my electrical outlet was beside the AC unit that I used to plug my phone into. Bathroom was run down in spots. Dirt behind the bed. Overall Cleanliness was disgusting. You'd be better off paying a little bit more to stay somewhere else.
My experience at the hotel was outstanding! The font agent was exceptionally friendly, and I was immediately impressed by the cleanliness and fresh aroma of the entrance and hallways. The rooms were immaculate, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a pristine stay!
Checked in - no coffee in lobby. Bathroom floor was so sticky had to put towels down. Front desk offered to move us but had already unpacked. No coffee was ever made that day. Breakfast ran out around 9:15 (no waffle mix, no syrup, no fruit, limited yogurt). They would not put any more out as it closed at 9:30. Poor service - expect more from Marriot. Trash outside overflowing entire trip. Do better.
Great location and the lobby and hotel looked nice. We stayed in room 101 and it smelled like mildew and the room just felt damp. There was no ventilation or fan that we could cut on. You could see water stains going down the wall where there was previous water leaks.. also there were gnats around the sink.
My husband and I just spent 4 nights at this hotel in Charlotte. We had flown down from Maine to go to a concert. The location was perfect for us between the airport and the concert venue. We arrived a little early, and the gentleman at the counter was very accommodating. He had given us a room on the first floor. We had gone to the room and found that some of the popcorn ceiling was shedding, it was all over the floor and tv area. We went right back down to the office, and he moved us to another room right away. It is a little older hotel, but we felt safe and it was clean. The bedding was comfortable and nice. The only downfalls, when we went into the second room, they had just cleaned it, and the scent in the room was so overpowering that it began to give me a sore throat. The scent was very powdery and strong. Maybe use a little less. We had left and gone to get dinner, came back, and the air was much clearer. This, I believe, is a newer policy for some hotels, I believe, but our room was not cleaned once while we were there. We are pretty good about hanging our towels and stuff to reuse. I do wish there were a bit more communication regarding what to expect for room cleaning. We had to ask for clean towels, which were accommodated. However, the second to last night we requested more toilet paper as we were almost out. We never received the additional toilet paper. We made it with what was left. I sure hope the next person to stay in this room gets some. This was not a bad hotel for our first stay in Charlotte; however, after this visit, I think I would spend a little more money and stay in other areas, or even outside of Charlotte. The highway system is quite easy to navigate.
