The Hilton Garden Inn Charlotte North receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising friendly staff and convenient location. However, recurring issues include construction noise, dated rooms in need of renovation, inconsistent cleanliness, and operational problems like malfunctioning appliances and plumbing. Recent renovations have partially addressed some concerns, but significant improvements are still needed to meet Hilton Garden Inn standards.
With construction, there were parking and noise challenges. However, Every question or concern we raised was addressed with respect by Brigette or Clayton. I appreciated that. Plenty of diffused lighting and outlets included USB and C chargers. ??The bed was soft and not too high. Nice pillows but we thought the sheets were grabby and did not wick moisture. In the restoom, shower head is too high for short people to adjust. No bath, so not great for children, maybe install a handheld. I didn't like water adjustment and he grabbar are on the toilet side. Who is exiting into a toilet? A bath mat doesn't even fit there. The inside shower towel bar is not slip resistant, almost an oopsie! There is a small ledge for leg shaving. The blackout shield closes out most light, but sunlight does come through the sides, so bring a mask! I use Metro and was not able to see any available wifi, although there were towers nearby. My companion uses Verizon and had no issues. Overall I would consider returning if in the area - especially if the pool has reopened.
The rooms were fine but definitely don't stay during the renovation. Jack-hammering at 9 am. Water shutoff twice with no warning of any kind for over an hour. When I asked the front desk was told there was no way for them to notify and no solutions were offered of any kind. Definitely didn't feel like a valued customer.
We are never disappointed when staying at Hilton Garden Inn. The staff here were very professional and friendly. They spoke eveytime we walked past them. Check in was easy and so was the check out. Clean lobby & room. We were on the second floor. Stayed 3 nights. Close to our various locations we visited. Ice machine worked, not noisy at all. Room attendant cleaned our room nicely. We'll definitely be back!
When arrived, parking was scarce. The property is older as well so we were concerned about the experience. We figured it was one night on our way to our final destination so it will be ok. The lobby was nice but the gentleman that greeted us, Clayton, was what made it top-notch. He immediately told us that the hotel was under renovation but he proactively moved us to the only floor that was complete. The pipes were noisy at times but only for short period of time. He gave us waters and checked on us. Really appreciated Clayton’s extra attention to comfort. He was polite, warm, professional, helpful and made it a delightful experience. The room was clean, upgraded and comfortable.
Old and nasty rooms ?!! We arrived to travel to another city, but we couldn't move to another one. It was a bad experience; we couldn't find parking because it was closed for remodeling, and when we finally found one the next morning, it was Sunday and they started working early. When we left at 9 am, we found they were working next to my car and had to clear it away to be able to leave. The clogged bathtub and sink mean they don't do maintenance. We couldn't open the bathroom because the door handle came completely off and it wouldn't open until the next morning. Do not rent if you are going to make arrangements because it makes people have a bad stay
We stopped at this hotel after a long 14 hour drive. What an amazing find. Impeccable and kind service, clean and spacious room, affordable price, great location right off the highway, wonderful breakfast cooked by the mother of the amazing woman who checked us in late in the evening. Overall, an amazing experience. We will definitely be back.
We did not have a good experience at all. We were on the road from Florida to New York and very tired. The gentleman that checked us in the night of December 20th was very cold and unwelcoming, bordering on just plain rude. He certainly does not belong in the hospitality industry. The room was fine, but the bathroom had no amenities to speak of and the light from the parking lot seeped into the room, as the blinds did not close well. The breakfast was not included and since it was $13 with poor choices, we declined. All the other hotels we stayed in while on the road included breakfast. This hotel was very disappointing. Would not go back.
The overall experience at this hotel leaves much to be desired. The lobby was what you expect. Had to wait a little bit to check in because the front desk person was debating with a customer how long their drive was. The room is extremely outdated. I booked a whirlpool room so I could relax but after looking inside of it, I decided it would be best to opt out of that. I definitely won't be booking this hotel again in the future.
There is a night club next door thay doesn't close until 5 am. You will not sleep! Hotel staff was rude on multiple occasions. Rooms are old and dated. Carpet needs replacing. Pool was closed and we received no notice-one of the reasons we booked here. Multiple gym equipment was broken. An overall terrible experience. Do not recommend.
All Hiltons are not created ,operated or staffed equally. This was my birthday trip and the only good thing about this stay was when it was over! I'm disgusted that I used my part of my well earned points on this pitiful excuse for a Hilton. We stayed in room 515 and it was less than clean. It is in dire need of a remodel. The upcharge for a suite is ludicrous at this location with it's nasty carpet and mold around the ac unit. The pool was closed and the coffee/tea bar are only up and going in the mornings. I kept getting texts about how is your stay? So I answered truthfully and the response I received was condescending, as if I didn't have a right to voice my paying opinion. They most certainly do advertise that they have a pool on their website!!!! We visit Charlotte often and I can say with absolute certainty we will not ever stay at this location again. Hiltons Pineville location (only 30 mins away) puts this one to absolute shame. I'll give the service a 2 star only because the check out lady was super nice and a staff member did bring up a roll of toilet paper upon request. To sum up this entire review, you can look over the last 6 months and see that this location is not Hilton quality truthfully I'm not sure that it's better than a budget motel.
