NEVER AGAIN. I have not had a hotel stay this bad in years, if ever! Staff was rude, loud, cursing and not professional. They tried to put me in a dirty room. The server in the bar during the day would bring the wrong food and when asked about it just shrugged and said "that's what chef gave me" DESPITE the fact that SHE WROTE DOWN MY ORDER! So if chef gave you something I didn't order, don't give it to me! Then my food took forever because they were feeding themselves! I was the only customer in the restaurant, and my food and drinks took 30+ minutes for a salad, sandwich and fries, meanwhile staff is getting food. I politely asked to see a manager, and he refused to come out and speak to me. I was not loud nor irate or anything. He just refused. I left the hotel after only 1 night, at the front desk with one of the few polite staff members, and went to a nearby Hilton. They assured me I was checked out of my room and I would not be charged. Turns out they did not check me out (I asked again the next day and was told I was) and they charged my card for the stay, in addition to my paying for the other hotel I stayed out. So I called the front desk and was told there were no managers nor supervisors on duty, and no one could help me with the hundreds of dollars they took from my account! I called customer service and they said they were going to call them, but ended up connecting me to a supervisor when I explained I had already spoken to the hotel and they said they couldn't help. In addition to all that the manager of the new hotel had text the manager who refused to come out, and he told her that he would refund my money, BUT NEVER DID!

Decent hotel near unc-c and I-85 east. Bugged by no ice machine on our floor. Free breakfast is decent with oatmeal, waffles, egg, bread muffins and coffee. Cool. Rooms. Much appreciated while it's in the 90's when you step outside (5/20).

I sent my mom and her best friend to this property while heading out of town for a couple of days. The staff went ABOVE and BEYOND most customer service standards. Elite service. My mom and her friend raved the entire way home about how well they were treated and how helpful the staff was. Location to local shopping and food was also highly mentioned. I truly appreciate your kindness and hospitality.

We had come into town for a funeral from Asheville and decided to stay at the hotel with other family as we have a 1 year old and thought it would be ideal to not have to drive home. We were part of a room block that clearly indicated we were part of a funeral party. I called earlier in the week to ensure we had a pack and play available for the baby and was assured there would be one for us. My mother also was assured there would be one for us when she checked in earlier in the day. Even when we arrived that evening after the reception (having driven straight from Asheville to the service) we were told they would bring one to our room. But instead, the front desk clerk informed my cousin as she returned to the lobby (who had only helped me get bags to the room while my husband was parking, was not staying in the room with us) that actually there was no pack and play. Mind you, the front desk clerk did not call our room where I was getting our son ready for bed. When my husband went to the front desk to ask what had happened, they simply said there was nothing they could do. That pack and plays are “first come first served” and that they’d actually “thrown away 3” earlier that day because they were “broken”. Worst hospitality I’ve experienced at a hotel in a while. There was no offer to get another one for us - a simple trip to WalMart would’ve sufficed. But instead we had to make the drive back to Asheville because it simply wasn’t worth it to try to stay somewhere else. Had we not been assured on multiple occasions that there would be a pack and play, we would’ve just brought our own! There was no respect for a young family, and one that had come into town for a funeral! I’d avoid giving this place your business at all costs. Especially if you’re a family.

Functional – Nothing fancy nor plain about the hotel. Rooms are clean and spacious. Hotel staff are super friendly and helpful. Located in South Park – you’re in the midst of some of the best shopping and restaurants.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel 11/15/25-11/16/25. Some friends and I had gone to Charlotte for one of our friend’s 60th Birthday Celebration. Initially, there was a mixup with my reservation and the matter was immediately resolved after speaking with Rashad over the phone. Rashad is phenomenal and truly professional and he aims to ensure you receive a pleasant stay at this hotel. He was so courteous and knowledgeable of how to address the issue I was experiencing that I assumed he was on the management team. My friends and I really wanted to make our friend feel special for her 60th Birthday Celebration. We live out of town and wanted to figure out a way of having our friend’s room decorated prior to our arrival. I asked Rashad if this service was offered and he stated it is not a normal service offered but he ensured me he would take care of my request. I had another appt in Charlotte 2 weeks prior to our arrival for the birthday celebration. I dropped off the decorations and met Rashad. I was waiting for my Uber to take me back to the train station. People (vendors and guests) were constantly coming in and out of the hotel and each of them were constantly addressing Rashad. I assumed he was a manger due to his work ethics displayed with the guest and vendors. I felt confident he would take care of our request since he had already corrected a previous issue. He assured me our friend’s room would be decorated and a very courteous co worker, Angel, volunteered with excitement to decorate the room. When my friends and I made it to Charlotte for the celebration, my friend cried a river after seeing the beautiful job Angel had done with the decorations for her room. Rashad and Angel hats off to you both! These two individuals did a phenomenal job ensuring our stay was grand! Also, I have to mention the delicious buffet and great top notch service by Tracey in the dining area. I am so thankful for Rashad, Angel and Tracey for making our friend’s 60th Birthday Celebration so outstanding!

I give Homewood Suites 5 stars for front desk and weekend only breakfast staff. Upon arrival, I was graciously greeted & welcomed by Anthony, the manager, who enlightened me about the hotel and the amenities available. All the front desk staff had the same vibe of sincere graciousness which obviously started from the top! The M-F breakfast staff had a little too much negative attitude for me: I'd say good morning with only a "hey", grunt or no response at all. Yes. I realized I did wrong by opening the clear cabinet door for some bread with my hand, but her response, "don't reach in there, that's what the tongues are for" belittled and embarrassed me, which was her intent. No customer care, just a watchdog while on the phone scrolling, making sure we don't do wrong(?) in her breakfast bar. One breakfast staff lady changed the TV channel and stood there to watch "her" show when all the guys were watching SportsCenter, and she never changed it back! I had the oatmeal they prepared and after how it looked when lifting a spoonful from the rest (strands of saliva look), I stopped eating it. Got sick later. Housekeeping is another story, but again, with great front desk, things get done right in the end. Didn't mean to write a book, but all in all, with great location and front desk service, I'd be willing to return!

Our stay at the hotel was ok. The room was good with plenty of space for the 4 of us. Even though your policy is to only clean or refresh the rooms every other day I want to say this isn't really a good policy. All rooms should be checked daily to empty the trash, add more toilet paper and check for adequate bath towels and wash cloths. Don't clean or make beds but at least do that much. We were rather upset at the restaurant. When we checked in the Desk Clerk said last call for dinner orders was 9:30pm so we were seated there before that time. It took 5-10 minutes to get a menu. Then when the server came over to take our orders, she started then stopped and said, “Oh I forgot. He closed the kitchen early because he's by himself.” Ok, that happens. BUT, there were people at 2 tables and one bar customer who ordered after we sat down and received food. This really wasn't fair. I don't know why we were excluded but I don't appreciate it especially since food continued to be served

The hotel its’ self was great and the front desk staff was great! But, my friend and I, ate downstairs at the restaurant and it was the worse experience I’ve had in a long time. Our bartender was Gari (I think that’s how you spell it). Besides being absolutely slower than molasses. When asking him for stuff, he seemed annoyed. We ordered fried pickles, he gave us no plates, napkins, or silverware. The pickles also came with no sauces. So by the time we got his attention for the sauce and other stuff, our appetizer was not hot. My friend and I were gonna leave right then, but it was late to go somewhere else, so we settled on ordering our entrees there. Food was okay, except the 3 cheese flatbread, it was cold and had no flavor. The service was unbearable. After dropping the check, it took him 15-20 mins to cash us out. That’s after I had to yell at him across the bar to get his attention. I don’t care if you don’t talk to me, but be somewhat attentive. I am a Hilton diamond member so it sucks to see this happen at certain properties.
