The Aloft Charlotte City Center offers a convenient location in Uptown Charlotte, close to entertainment and dining. While some guests appreciate the modern rooms and friendly staff, particularly Terrie at the front desk, recurring concerns include noise levels, cleanliness issues, and inconsistent service. Recent reviews highlight issues with room conditions, valet parking frustrations, and a lack of responsiveness from hotel management regarding complaints.
I stayed at the Aloft Marriott in Charlotte, North Carolina on July 18th for the Usher and Chris Brown concert and had a great experience. The hotel was very clean, the room was modern with a great view, and the front desk staff were welcoming and friendly. One of the best parts was being within walking distance of the concert venue, which made the trip even more enjoyable. My only complaint was that there weren’t enough towels and washcloths provided in the room. Aside from that, everything else was excellent. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Charlotte for a concert or weekend getaway.
Aloft by Marriott was an okay experience, good for the most part. It was a little hard for me to find the valet at the beginning so I had to call the customer service so they can give me directions. The customer service was very helpful though, and stayed on the phone with me until I found it! The valet gentleman helped me find the hotel. To get to the hotel you have to go inside and get an elevator to like the 5th floor or something. Once I got there, Honesty was very helpful and sweet, I really appreciate it! It was a quick process to check in, thankfully cause I was in a rush! The room was okay, but I believe we pay for the location. It was just me so, the room was sufficient for me. The room was hot throughout the night and I woke up in the middle of the night sweating. There was outside noise throughout the night, so be ware of that. It was extremely close to the spectrum center which is the reason for my visit. Once I left, I left early so I had to go through the parking garage for the valet pick up. The service in the early morning wasn’t that great, the valet lady looked extremely tired, and I was walking around the parking to look for her cause I couldn’t find her, or where to even go to find valet. If I have to, I would come again, I didn’t have a terrible experience.
The location is great. That's about it. I'm not picky about hotels. It feels like a cheap facade glued on to a barbone structure in a weak attempt to look fancy and modern. The carpet feels like it came from a discount outlet. I guess cold water was too much to ask for. I couldn't get anything colder than body temperature and there was no ice to be found. I asked the front desk and they acted like cold water was an unreasonable request. The provided earplugs are necessary for the AC unit which sounds like a freight train and sits on and off frequently to prevent any adjustment to the noise. The tv volume needed to be adjusted +/-25 based on if the AC was running, which kicked on and off about 5 minutes. Needed to take an elevator to the 5th floor lobby, then a separate elevator to my room. 2 elevator waits was annoying. I'd recommend avoiding.
one of the worst hotels. hotel provides ear plugs?. the loud cars at night makes sense. also the AC wasnt quite. also, when we stayed , the kid was crying in the hall around 5/6am, really. the room also had humidity. you need to take 2 elevators to get to rooms. location isnt best. would not recommend. we left earlier. only positive for me was the bed itself i.e. wasnt soft. pillows though were sooo flat??
Staff at this location is amazing especially Terrie! This woman has generosity and drive like no other. Very attentive and kind. Made my family feel like she was pleased to help us not that it was just a job. This woman needs to be promoted. She has elite customer service skills and does it all with a smile. With the service I received from Terrie I would definitely recommend.
I don't normally do this but I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you a little about our experience at this hotel. The minute we arrived we were greeted by two amazing front desk employees, Mikey and A'Darion. We stayed at the hotel for 4 days and three nights and each time we passed the front desk and one or both of these gentlemen were there, they greeted us with a good morning, good afternoon or good evening Mr and Mrs Rodriguez. They truly cared about our visit and our little trip to the Queen City. There were a couple of small requests that we made that were taken care of almost instantaneously by these two gentlemen. You both should be commended by the powers that be for the job that you do. The hotel is exactly what we expected it to be. Quite pleasant with everything we needed for our stay. The street traffic was a little loud and the next time we stay we will ask to be put in a room that can remedy that. Overall the location is fantastic with plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. We ate at the steakhouse below the hotel, Fleming's and it was outstanding. If you're contemplating a trip to Charlotte I would highly suggest a stay at this hotel largely in part to its tremendous staff. Thank you gentlemen for taking care of us for a few days and we will see you again in the fall!.. Eddie and Mimi Rodriguez
When you walk in and there are earplugs it should have been a warning. The hotel is beat and not up to Marriot Standards. Our room wasn’t ready at chai in so they gave us an accessible room. The mattress basically sat on the floor. Plugged into the bedside receptacle and it didn’t work . Asked to be moved and they said no they were booked. Watched the engineer who was great and the only redeeming factor at the hotel try to fix the problem for two hours. Actually missed the meeting I had came for, but was going to change hotels if they were not fixed. After two hours low and behold the hotel become unbooked and they moved us. It is incredibly noisy at night. They actually offer sound machines. Stay anywhere else!
Room was clean and nice for one night. No outside noise came through, I was on the 11th floor. The valet parking is cheaper than just self parking as the self parking charges hourly and valet is for your stay. My car came back to me the same as I gave it to them, no strong odors or trash. The staff were very nice and helpful. Some seemed newer but they all were very nice and competent at helping me. I like how theres also some food places within walking distance of the hotel so I didn’t need my car at all.
Had an amazing time this weekend here. Right in the middle of the city, valet parking, food places and bars all around you. The staff was extremely friendly, always greeted when arriving and leaving with smiles on their face! They have a little drink and snack area, and the bar which you can charge straight to the room which I loved. Only sketchy thing was we got 2 random charges for $100 and $200 at 3:10am and 3:11am and they had no real reasoning behind it except the system randomly does that or resets or something but we keep our card locked, I almost wonder how many people are being taken from and maybe not realizing it..because of the time of the charges trying to be taken and if you are loaded anyways, you maybe would assume it’s just a random charge for the room. I was told several people had that issue with it happening so maybe it is a system thing but I’m not sure. Loved this place though, just keep your card locked! Lol
