The Home2 Suites by Hilton Charlotte University Research Park generally receives positive feedback, particularly regarding the friendly and helpful staff, and its convenient location. However, recent reviews highlight significant cleanliness and maintenance issues, including mold, stains, and malfunctioning equipment, alongside occasional staff unfriendliness. While some guests appreciate the spacious rooms and kitchen facilities, recurring problems with facilities and cleanliness detract from the overall experience.

We had a wonderful stay! Samantha at the front desk was especially amazing and went above and beyond to help us during our visit. Her professionalism, kindness, and willingness to assist made a great experience even better. The entire staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel was clean, well-maintained, and had a fresh, pleasant atmosphere from the moment we walked in. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again in the future! Thank you, Samantha, and the entire team, for your excellent hospitality. ?

Cammie was always greeting me and my girlfriend whenever we would come downstairs or come back from an outing. The staff were also very hopeful in answering any questions we had and helping us get what we needed. I will totally stay at this hotel again, especially since it will be getting renovated in November with all new furniture and such.

Location was good and close to attractions and food. Nightly rate was high for the low quality property. The one working elevator was way past inspection date. Hallways were hot. Room was in need of deep cleaning and repairs. Staff was just OK. Overall, fine for the night but not one I will return to, or recommend.

Pros: location and proximity to attractions, breakfast was good Cons: one of the 2 elevators was out, the one operational was way past inspection. Made for a nightmare of a time trying to get down with a cart. Common area furniture was filthy. Hallways and elevators not climate controlled. Room carpet was gross, couch was ripped, lamps busted. Overall, not impressed. Nightly rate was high for the quality of the property. Would not recommend this hotel.

We were really disappointed with our stay at Home2 Suites. I have been a Hilton reward member for sometime now and we’ve always had great experiences with this brand, which made this visit especially frustrating. The pool was one of the main reasons we booked, but it was so cloudy and dirty you couldn’t even see the bottom or the stairs—definitely not safe or usable for our kids. Our room was in rough shape, with holes in the walls, horrible visible stains on our couch, and an overall grimy feel. We also had to request clean sheets because the ones on the bed clearly hadn’t been changed and had visible stains. The issues continued in the common areas. The breakfast setup looked poorly maintained—one of the cereal dispensers was literally held together with Scotch tape, and much of the serving equipment appeared broken or taped up. The lobby cushions were heavily stained, and the coffee was barely warm. To top it off, one of the elevators was out of service the entire time. This was not the standard we’ve come to expect from Hilton hotels, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience.

I’ve been a loyal Hilton Honors member for several years, and this location continues to impress. I’ve stayed here twice in the past six months, and the staff has been consistently friendly, professional, and welcoming. The rooms and facilities are always clean and well?maintained, living up to Hilton’s standards. (It may be time to refresh a few of the lamp shades, but nothing that affects the overall experience.) Also, please upgrade to smart tvs. The front desk agent who answered my call that morning and checked me in that evening provided Execptional Hilton Service. ( reach out for confirmation number to recognize this amazing lady!) The only minor drawback was that I now use digital business cards and wasn’t able to enter the drawing for the 15,000 Hilton Honors points. I’ll be sure to bring a physical card on my next visit. Overall, this remains one of the best hotel options in the Charlotte–University City area.

I stayed at this hotel from February 19–21, 2026 in Room 208, and unfortunately my stay was cut short due to what appeared to be a serious pest issue. During my first night, I woke up around 4 a.m. and found a dead cockroach on the floor. After showering I noticed multiple spider bites on my left hip and lower leg. I immediately packed my belongings and informed the front desk. I did not feel my concerns were handled with urgency or care. Since leaving, the bites have become infected and have worsened to the point that I needed medical attention. I have contacted management by phone and email regarding this matter and am still seeking resolution.

I checked into this hotel for a business trip of 6 days. It’s day 3 of me being here, when I initially checked in Sunday evening there was a sign that said “be back soon” with no timeline of when someone would return to the front desk to check me in. I found this to be a pattern, in the evenings there is no one available at the front to assist, greet, or welcome you so be prepared to wait around until someone walks out from the back at their own leisure. My thermostat is not functional, my sink drain is clogged, and there was hair all over the restroom. Not to mention the furniture is stained pretty badly and gross. I submitted a work order, and the broken items have not been repaired, I let the front desk know for a second time and shall see if it’s resolved today. In addition, all the outlets in my room are loose and my charges do not stay plugged in. I’ve had to find a wall charger on the other side of the room to charge my devices. This hotel is outdated with no smart TVs so if you are staying for a longer period be prepared for standard cable. I am a big fan of the Home2 Suites brand, and am incredibly disappointed in the overall quality of this specific one. Wouldn’t recommend for the price and would suggest staying at the Marriott located directly in front.

We arrived early and there wasn’t any rooms ready. My dog was having a medical emergency and the gentleman with the cast on his arm and manager helped me greatly with looking up the vet and got us into a room as soon as one was ready. I was really appreciative of that and honestly the whole stay was great. MINUS- the breakfast server. She was awful and so rude to numerous guests both mornings we were down there. Don’t be at a job like that if your going to make guests feel unwelcome and uncomfortable just trying to eat.
