The Courtyard Charlotte Airport LoSo consistently receives positive feedback for its convenient location near the airport and comfortable rooms, particularly praising recent renovations and the gym’s upgrade. However, recent reviews highlight concerns regarding inconsistent service quality, issues with room cleanliness and maintenance, and frustrating experiences with check-in procedures and staff responsiveness.
I don’t always stay in Charlotte for business… but when I do, I like my hotel to understand that I’m one laptop bag away from becoming a regional vice president. Courtyard by Marriott had that clean, calm, business-trip energy — the kind where the lobby smells professional, the elevators feel important, and everybody looks like they’re either closing a deal or pretending they know what Q3 projections mean. The room was exactly what I needed: comfortable bed, cold AC, enough outlets to power a small NASA launch, and a desk that made me feel productive just by sitting near it. After a long day in Charlotte, it hit the sweet spot between “corporate responsible adult” and “dad who might eat takeout in bed while checking emails.” Service was smooth, the place felt sharp, and I left feeling rested enough to get back out there and pretend my calendar wasn’t bullying me. Stay business casual, my friends.
Stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Charlotte Airport recently and overall had a pretty decent experience. The hotel is only about 10 minutes from the airport, which made it super convenient after traveling. One thing I will say is pay close attention when pulling up because it’s the very first building you see coming from the airport and there’s really only one entrance to get in. Easy to miss if you’re not paying attention. Check-in was fast and smooth with no issues at all. Parking was also a plus — there’s plenty of parking behind the hotel, but you do need your room key card to access it. So if you have visitors, you’ll probably have to meet them outside and let them in yourself. If you don’t feel like leaving to grab food, they do have an onsite restaurant that stays open until 1 AM, which was convenient. While heading to my room, I noticed the gym down the hallway from check-in and it was actually stocked with Life Fitness equipment instead of the usual bare minimum hotel gym setup. I was also disappointed I got there too late to enjoy the pool and outdoor sitting area because it looked really nice at night. As for the room, I had a single queen room that was fairly modern with a nice 50-inch TV and a large circular chair that was perfect for relaxing. The bed was decently comfortable too. My only real complaint was there was a slight mildew smell in the room. Since I was only there for one night, it wasn’t a huge deal, but it was definitely noticeable. Overall, I’d give this hotel about 3.5 out of 5 stars. Even though it’s under the Marriott umbrella, you can still notice some lower-end qualities here and there. But if you’re looking for a quick stay near the airport with some decent creature comforts, this is definitely a solid option.
I haven’t stayed at a Courtyard in a number of years, though I have read that the brand has undergone significant upgrades since its original launch. My wife and I ended up here recently after American Airlines put us up for the night due to a maintenance issue on our return flight home. The hotel has indeed changed quite a bit since my last stay. The redesigned lobby and the "Bistro" cafe area give it a much more modern feel. Our room was very comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed our stay, brief as it was. I had a chance to use the gym and was pleasantly surprised; this isn’t your average limited-service fitness room. It featured several elliptical machines and treadmills, along with a wide selection of weightlifting equipment and free weights. This gym rivals, if not outperforms, many full-service hotels I’ve stayed in over the years. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. While I found the food prices to be a bit on the high side, it was nice to see a solid variety of offerings compared to the more limited selections I recall from the past. The hotel is conveniently located just a few miles from the Charlotte airport. However, it’s important to note that if you are looking for nearby dining options or other amenities, you’ll really need a car. There is nothing within safe walking distance of the property. On the plus side, the hotel offers a shuttle service that was both efficient and on time. If I return to the Charlotte area and need an airport hotel, I would certainly consider this for a short stay. It is a very good choice if you need to be near the airport, provided you don't mind the lack of immediate off-site dining.
We had a brief but comfortable stay at this Courtyard Marriott hotel. It is just minutes from the Charlotte airport. The check in was quick. There is a restaurant in the hotel and we are able to eat there vs going outside of the hotel. The bacon burger, fries, and quesadillas were delicious. The hotel provided transportation to and from the airport, which helped us out a lot. We stayed overnight to catch a morning flight back home. The room was comfortable. The staff was friendly. The lobby had a great smell when we entered. The water in the lobby near the front desk was greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping us have a comfortable stay while away.
FRIENDLY & CLEAN! A delayed flight pushed my arrival to Charlotte past 10:00 p.m. so this hotel made sense. Imagine my delight when I walked through the entrance and saw three reception stations with three staff members SMILING and upbeat, ready to assist! The check-in process was quick and painless then I received my key card for room 512. Again, imagine my delight when I go into the room, look around and she a VERY clean space, including the bathroom. Whatever they're doing there is working!
Hotel was clean and comfortable. It was not that close to the airport but the shuttle was convenient. They did not accept my airline voucher in the restaurant or upon check out?
For starters, our reservation was booked through Booking.com and when we went to check in, the lady charged us again for the room and then told us that we had to wait for a refund I believe about three days or something like that. For the inconvenience, she offered a $10 breakfast certificate but breakfast came with what we booked so then she offered a little gift certificates for the gift shop. Not long after we got there. I decided I was going to take a shower, but then I realize the water wasn’t getting hot so they allowed us to check in when they knew that there was no hot water because when we called the front desk they said that they were working on it, which is poor communication because why are you letting people check in if you know you don’t have hot water. This is Valentine’s Day weekend so we had plans to go to dinner that night so we sucked it up and took cold showers, but we also were to our reservations because they kept saying they had somebody working on it. The next morning, the water was ice cold and when we called the front desk, they still said that someone was working on it, but they didn’t know when it was gonna be back working so we decided to go ahead and cancel the rest of the reservation and we left Charlotte to go back home. I know things sometimes break and you have to get things repaired, but this hotel didn’t communicate anything before we contacted them which is unacceptable. Also, this hotel is not in a great spot. It’s hard to get into and out sometimes due traffic and where it’s located. The gated parking lot was only one way in and one way out which I felt was unsafe.
Ehh don’t stay here way better options all in the same area. Needed one night for cancelled flight. Front desk worker was rude and unhelpful. I get people have a bad day but unfortunately if you look at the other reviews, this is an ongoing theme. Room was dingy and desperately needed painted and smelled like smoke. The bartender was nice and food was pretty good.
Great, except customer service was trash. Samantha, who answers the phone was garbage to deal with. I asked if she would send the shuttle to the airport earlier if the driver where to arrive early. She basically told me to get lost. I asked to get a supervisor same response. Waiting three hours for the late bus driver. Needs remedial training.
I slept here for one night and was pleasantly happy. The service was phenomenal, they allowed me to check in 3 hours early to rest from my red eye flight. The room was clean and the bathroom was renovated. The bed was comfortable. I’m not sure why people complain about the location when there was gated parking in the back. I will definitely be sleeping here again when I return to Charlotte. Thank you.
