The Element Charlotte Uptown consistently receives positive feedback for its excellent customer service, clean and well-equipped rooms, and convenient location near the Charlotte Convention Center and NASCAR Hall of Fame. While some guests have noted minor issues like parking and hot water in the shower, the overall experience is considered favorable, especially regarding the staff’s attentiveness and willingness to go above and beyond.

From the moment we walked into Element by Westin, the experience was completely different in the best way. We arrived after a really disappointing situation at another hotel nearby, where we had dealt with a room that smelled like a dead rat, unprofessional service, and a lot of back and forth just to be able to leave. When we explained what had happened, the staff at Element immediately stepped in and made us feel taken care of. Their customer service was spot on from start to finish. Anything we needed or had questions about, they went above and beyond to help. The front desk staff, bartenders, housekeepers, and everyone we interacted with were so kind, welcoming, and professional. The hotel itself was also extremely clean, which we appreciated even more after what we had just experienced. You could tell the staff takes pride in the property and in making guests feel comfortable. Element by Westin turned a really frustrating travel experience into a great one, and we were so grateful for how well they treated us. I would absolutely recommend staying here.

Location was fabulous for access to the convention center and the NASCAR hall of fame. Front desk staff was very helpful. Shana the bartender was amazing! She was very efficient and personable. I would definitely rebook when I’m back in Charlotte.

Loved it! Lovely, newer hotel. Nice kitchette that was fully equipped, ample room in the room, nice shower, comfortable bed, delicious provided fruit-infused water in the lobby, very good hot complimentary breakfast that changed daily, very helpful staff, close proximity to the Charlotte Convention Center with a great Whole Foods right next door. One small hiccup with fresh towels being automatically refurnished but that was easily remedied by talking with the front desk. Looking forward to the time we can visit again!

Stayed at this hotel for ChosenCon with kids. The beds are comfortable and the room is nicely laid out with a big TV. The room has a nice kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher. There is enough dishes, silverware, and glassware for 4 people. It is an easy walk to the Charlotte convention center. The gym is decent and open 24 hours. The free breakfast is better than most with real eggs, sausage, burritos, yogurt with the fixins, and fresh fruit. Staff here are helpful and cheerful. I would stay here again!

The best part of my stay at this hotel was Shana the bartender. She was amazing and made our stay fun. Great conversationalis and great service. The front desk manager, Cam was also extremely helpful friendly and courteous. I would definitely stay here again. The rooms are comfortable and clean.

Generally not a great stay experience. 1) the staff was smoking outside when I entered the lobby. Saw I was going to check in and cut the smoke off and I can still smell off the smoke on her entire outfit. 2) gave me a fair room at 8th floor. But when I entered, the lamp besides the bed is blinking, which is unforgivable given the room need to be checked on a daily basis. 3) switched another room on higher floor, the lamp still blinking! I was so tired of it and don’t want to spend time to get downstairs and I need to repack my everything up and switch another one. 4) the breakfast is approximately nothing. Besides a lady sitting in the kitchen with an omelette machine. The flavor is super weird compared to other Marriott breakfast supplies. Also a DIY yogurt bowl. 5) the checkout process is bizarre. Given plat member status, I was able to check out at 4 and I noted the staff 2 days before I’m leaving. When I came back at 3:30 that afternoon, I was suddenly told that someone has checked me out at 14:00 already…. 6) the status on the app doesn’t match with number of stays I stayed. Supposed to be displaying 3 but just showed 2. Overall it is definitely a bad experience I have ever had staying with the Marriott member hotel. Guess the major reason is the property management is BAD, cuz heard other guests staying at different Element hotels in different cities, the experience are fantastic

Alberta fixes the absolute best scrambled eggs with the best smile. The breakfast that is included in the room price is far superior to any other hotel. All the staff were so helpful in the snowstorm. Room is comfy. Great hotel! We’ve stayed here multiple times.

The biggest complaint I’ve seen on here is parking. But the validate your parking if you take your ticket inside so you spend $0 on parking. There were plenty of spots available when I parked. Hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly. Their breakfast is also made fresh there including the muffins, so it was very refreshing compared to breakfast at other hotels. Will definitely be staying here again anytime I’m in town.

Booked the 1-bedroom suite for a week in November. The room was spacious, but almost completely void of decoration or finishing touches. “Sterile” is the best word that comes to mind. Multiple lights around the entire unit flicker almost constantly, see attached. Would have reported the lighting issue to the front desk, but the staff was present about 50% of the time, and that’s if I’m being generous. Speaking of service, our room was not attended to a single time during our entire stay. The fire alarm/smoke detector was installed directly above the bed and blinks bright green every few seconds, which does not help get a good night’s rest. We were given a handicap unit, which we have had plenty of in the past without issue, so the shower has a threshold that can be ran over. That’s great if you need that; but the shower curtain ruffles hang over its edges allowing water to flow right out and all over the bathroom, even when you use the magnets built into the curtain. Speaking of the shower, it can fit a single average-sized person snuggly. The handicap seat is fine, but shouldn’t take up a third of the already undersized shower, especially in a suite. The shower’s only saving grace is the shower heads, which are my favorite version with a strong mist mode. Navigating the parking deck can be confusing at first. Getting to the hotel parking is simple enough; but then all the signs leading out of the garage only point in the direction of Home2Suites, which is not in the same direction as Element. And yes, there’s only one deck so we weren’t just in the wrong place. The unit has a ton of storage in the kitchen; but literally nowhere else. There isn’t a single drawer anywhere but the hair dryer drawer in the bathroom. Even the closet only has a single hanger bar with a single shelf less than four feet off the ground. Not sure why they wouldn’t have added any shelves in the empty six feet above that at all. As for the road noise other’s complain about on their reviews, we live on a busy road, so we’re used to the background noise; but I can definitely see how that would bother people that aren’t used to it because it’s quite evident at night. Makes sense considering this hotel is directly up against I-277. Not a complaint for me, but your mileage may vary. The only unique benefit of this hotel is that it provides great views of the growing South End skyline, not the usual Uptown perspective. This is easily one of the most disappointing Marriott properties we have ever stayed at, so we’ll be sure to stay clear of this particular chain from here on out.

We came to Charlotte for a cheer competition at the convention center. Staff was amazing!!! So helpful and truly went above and beyond. The bartenders were fantastic, Mari and Shayna (sp?) are a part of our team now, breakfast was buffet with hot food, bagels, pastries, coffee, tea and juices. Sandra was a delight and we had so much fun with her Hotel is right next to a highway but we were on the opposite side, so we didn't hear the traffic. Us cheer moms had a great time. Thank you for accomodating our team and our parents. Charlotte is a beautiful city and Element was top notch.
