The Element Charlotte Uptown consistently receives positive feedback for its friendly and attentive staff, particularly highlighting individuals like Sandra and Alberta who go above and beyond to ensure guest satisfaction. Guests appreciate the hotel’s convenient location, clean rooms, and included breakfast, while some note minor issues like towel supply or mattress comfort. While a few reviews mention parking challenges and occasional staff performance inconsistencies, overall, the property is viewed as a positive and memorable experience.
We came to Charlotte for a convention and selected a hotel from the HPX Expo this past week. When we arrived our rooms were not ready and the front desk person said that she'd call me when the rooms were ready. She didn't, so we came back about 5 p.m. and got our keys. After that it was a flawless experience. We stayed for 4 nights and had breakfast at the hotel each morning. The breakfast selection was amazing, including "made to order eggs" and a lot of variety. The staff was very friendly, especially Ms. Sandra. She is so cheerful and friendly and went out of her way to make sure everyone got what they needed - 100% Ms. Sandra found out it was my birthday on Wed., and brought me a birthday gift, with all kinds of wonderful things - a really thoughtful gift. A few minutes later the GM stopped by, Ava, I believe and she came to introduce herself and wish me a happy birthday & pointed to her office letting me know that she was there in case we needed anything. A few minutes later, a young man named, Talon, presented me with a yellow rose bouquet and a birthday card, signed by many of the hotel staff!, The wonderful people of Elements, made me feel so special and really went out of their way, collectively, to make our experience at their hotel, over the top! The woman who cleaned our room was so sweet and friendly. Everyone had a smile and said hello or asked if there was anything we might need. If they put Ms. Sandra in charge of client relations and training at the corporate level, their hotels would be booked, year-round!! Two comments - they only supply 2 bath towels and every woman knows that we need 3 towels, one for our hair, one for our body and one for our partner! Also, I have to say that the mattresses weren't the most comfortable, but that was nothing compared to the team at Elements. Attached is our group with Ms. Sandra in the middle. and a photo of the gifts from Ms. Sandra and the roses from Talon! I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning. I only hope that the same friendly, out going people that work at this hotel, are there next year. In this day and age - finding an employee who wants to work is hard enough, but finding employees that genuinely commit to their job, to care about their customers and make it their goal to show the guests they are appreciated, that's a rare find! Ava the GM clearly insists that they all have fun doing their jobs and she has created a great work environment! Thank you, Paula
This hotel is OK but we stay for two reasons. The bartender Shana and location. You guys have an amazing bartender. We stayed four nights and came back early every night from dinner so we can enjoy your bar because of her. I haven’t had a bartender this friendly and accommodating in a very long time.
Oooh Charlotte your customer service is terrible. Booked a King with kitchenette 6 weeks out online. Upon arrival I showed up to an empty front desk at 7pm. After a twenty minute wait I was told with an eye roll that my room was not available, overbooking happens all the time and the best that could be offered was an ADA room. This AD had a king but with no kitchenette.. Given one of the two original options I jumped on it. (Also received no welcome bag, that I qualify for) but I headed up to my room to find a set of blinds that were not functional at all. This was concerning due to the bright neon blue lights that were directed straight into my room to create that sleek look on the hotel from I277. I attempted to contact the front desk four times that evening with no answer before deciding to tough it out. The next morning prior to the 0630 breakfast I headed to the front desk to discuss the shade issue to find the front desk dude snoring while sitting at the front desk….. My request for work was delayed until later in the evening and was eventually resolved on day 3. Mind you… the resolution wasn’t by any direction of staff, they simply plugged a charger in the curtains, no directions just left it there. I figured out how to charge both curtains and how to operate them on my own. I asked on the evening of day 3 if I would be able to move into the room I booked for my 14 day stay and was told “no, there were 7 people ahead of you on the overbooked list.” Don’t come here with high expectations from service. I ve got 10 days left, wish me luck!
Honestly I am shocked that this is a 3 star hotel. The staff is probably the most friendly I have ever experienced. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted and make sure you are taken care of. The breakfast is fresh, and if you have any questions about the room, they will always make sure you are ok. This hotel is a 10/10
From the moment we walked into Element by Westin, the experience was completely different in the best way. We arrived after a really disappointing situation at another hotel nearby, where we had dealt with a room that smelled like a dead rat, unprofessional service, and a lot of back and forth just to be able to leave. When we explained what had happened, the staff at Element immediately stepped in and made us feel taken care of. Their customer service was spot on from start to finish. Anything we needed or had questions about, they went above and beyond to help. The front desk staff, bartenders, housekeepers, and everyone we interacted with were so kind, welcoming, and professional. The hotel itself was also extremely clean, which we appreciated even more after what we had just experienced. You could tell the staff takes pride in the property and in making guests feel comfortable. Element by Westin turned a really frustrating travel experience into a great one, and we were so grateful for how well they treated us. I would absolutely recommend staying here.
Location was fabulous for access to the convention center and the NASCAR hall of fame. Front desk staff was very helpful. Shana the bartender was amazing! She was very efficient and personable. I would definitely rebook when I’m back in Charlotte.
Loved it! Lovely, newer hotel. Nice kitchette that was fully equipped, ample room in the room, nice shower, comfortable bed, delicious provided fruit-infused water in the lobby, very good hot complimentary breakfast that changed daily, very helpful staff, close proximity to the Charlotte Convention Center with a great Whole Foods right next door. One small hiccup with fresh towels being automatically refurnished but that was easily remedied by talking with the front desk. Looking forward to the time we can visit again!
Stayed at this hotel for ChosenCon with kids. The beds are comfortable and the room is nicely laid out with a big TV. The room has a nice kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher. There is enough dishes, silverware, and glassware for 4 people. It is an easy walk to the Charlotte convention center. The gym is decent and open 24 hours. The free breakfast is better than most with real eggs, sausage, burritos, yogurt with the fixins, and fresh fruit. Staff here are helpful and cheerful. I would stay here again!
The best part of my stay at this hotel was Shana the bartender. She was amazing and made our stay fun. Great conversationalis and great service. The front desk manager, Cam was also extremely helpful friendly and courteous. I would definitely stay here again. The rooms are comfortable and clean.
Generally not a great stay experience. 1) the staff was smoking outside when I entered the lobby. Saw I was going to check in and cut the smoke off and I can still smell off the smoke on her entire outfit. 2) gave me a fair room at 8th floor. But when I entered, the lamp besides the bed is blinking, which is unforgivable given the room need to be checked on a daily basis. 3) switched another room on higher floor, the lamp still blinking! I was so tired of it and don’t want to spend time to get downstairs and I need to repack my everything up and switch another one. 4) the breakfast is approximately nothing. Besides a lady sitting in the kitchen with an omelette machine. The flavor is super weird compared to other Marriott breakfast supplies. Also a DIY yogurt bowl. 5) the checkout process is bizarre. Given plat member status, I was able to check out at 4 and I noted the staff 2 days before I’m leaving. When I came back at 3:30 that afternoon, I was suddenly told that someone has checked me out at 14:00 already…. 6) the status on the app doesn’t match with number of stays I stayed. Supposed to be displaying 3 but just showed 2. Overall it is definitely a bad experience I have ever had staying with the Marriott member hotel. Guess the major reason is the property management is BAD, cuz heard other guests staying at different Element hotels in different cities, the experience are fantastic
